YOU ARE A GENIUS
I just wanted to say THANK YOU. I have a Motorola V400 and these directions worked perfectly. I followed them to a "T" and it worked !!!! I have been trying to do this for ages and I never was able to find exactl directions to make it work. Thank you, cause for me.. you put it to "dummy" terms where all can understand.
if ppl are having troubles, it may be thier cable connection to the phone cause on my cable.. which is directly from motorola, while its plugged in if the phone bumps any bit it will lose the connection, so you have to put it in space and make sure it does not move and you know its fully connected. for me.. I connected it and turned on my mobile phone tools just to make sure it got reception to computer.then i shut off my mpt and started his directions.

Ok, I have a motorola RAZR, and have followed the directions as instructed and have no issues with PST or MIDway.
When I transfer a .jad file to my phone - my phone gives a message of " failed invalid file". I have seen this posted twice in reading through this entire thread in order to find a solution, but I am choosing a .jad file.
did you edit the jad file to point to the jar on your computer?

No - I just point to the jad file in MIDway..
I only have a jad file, not jar. Could you elaborate a little bit or point me where I can read more on this to learn.
I appreciate your quick response, and thanks for the help

Wirelessly posted (Motorola v188 on t-mobile: MOT-V188/0B.D2.30R MIB/2.2.1 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.0)
basically... the jad is a little text file that tells you and the phone about the program you're about to install. the jar file is the actual program installer. you need both to install something properly. open the jad in notepad and look for a web address that points to a jar file. copy this address to your browser and download the jar to the computer. save it to the same folder as the jad and change the address in the jad file to be just the name of the jar. then it should work with midway.

Thanks, I'll give it a whirl later and let you know if I had success.

ok, I followed your directions, downloaded the Jar file, opened up the the Jad file and changed the URL line to the exact name of the Jar file, but still get the same Invalid File message.
Below is a copy/paste of the Jad file, am I missing something?
