I recently signed up for Cingular Answer Tones. I told my boyfriend to call me, but it didn't work. I followed the procedures of setting up the "Answer Tones". It just didn't work. Does it take a day to process? Did I just do something wrong? HELP!!!

Signed this up on my wifes phone today. She was very suprised. I called cingular CS with a question about it and the rep had not even heard about all of the details about the service yet.

Does anyone know if you can make your own answer tones like you can make your own ringtone with a data cable and MPT?

i just got answer tones. call me! j/k
i'm kind of a retard when it comes to setting up stuff like this, but you can do it all on the website. there's also a way you can configure it from your phone, dial *TONE
you have to either use one as your default or set up caller groups and assign them one tone.
i also read on the site that you can put your own personal greeting before the actual answer tone, so that might answer the "can you make your own answer tone" question.
verizon has a feature where you can use several ringback tones as a default that rotate randomly, but i didnt see anything about that for cingular.

you can't make your own answer tones you can record you own voice as an answer tone but you can't make a tone and put it on your phone as the answer tones are stored on the cingular network not your phone

Thanks Cptech31 for answering my question. Oh well I wouldn't mind still downloading one when my wife and I have our first child in eight weeks (a boy).
