a) the plugin is faulty
b) you've installed the plugin on the MMC and not on your phones memory.
c) you ringtone is on your MMC
Bu I would say it's more likely c)
Why?
Because it's proven that ringtones saved on the MMC most time won't play properly because the card will be set in some kind of stand-by. When sombody calls you, the phone has to wake the card, but it reacts so slow that the phone thinks the ringtone is gone and plays the default one instead.
Or sometimes like in your case: some part of the ringtone which is set and than changes to the default ringtone.
I would recommend to convert the mp3s to wav-files because the phone naturally supports them.
But don't just convert them. The default codec for wav-files is PCM. This is uncompressed audio, huge amount of data.
Either you use "PC Suite for Nokia 6600" for transfering the mp3s, PC Suite can be set to convert the files while transfering to a supported and small wav-file.
Or you use a audio edtiting tool which allows you to select the codec which is used for the wav-file. The correct codec is IMA ADPCM. Also you should select mono, the file will be a bit smaller.
You can format your memory card several hundret times without damaging it.
Well, it could be a combination of apps or only one app or themethe cause for the problem.
I would try to eleminate the possibilities by installing the stuff and check each time if something happens to the picture messages.
Have you tried resetting/reformatting you phone? Maybe there is something faulty and the fault is triggert by one of you apps/themes to happen. |
HELP!
I'm a nokia 6600 user.
I followed exactly Bjoren by converting the mp3 files
I can set it as ringtone for incomming calls and when ppl call in it will play the mp3 song i selected, but when it comes to message alert tones it won't work.
My phone just light ups when theres massage and no sound came out.
But when i switch the massage tone to nokia's orginal massage tones i will ring. It's so weird.
Can anyone pls help me?
I'm desperate for mp3 tones.
