I'm a bit impatient, but my wife's the one that's really bugging me for a new phone. |
if your waiting for a UMTS phone for that specific "data while you talk" connection you are gonna hafta wait... if you dont use data at all why wait? |
For me, it's not just about the UMTS. It's the features that come with it. I like the ability to play MP3's on my phone, be able to move pictures to and from the phone easily, have expandable storage, and a half-decent camera, etc.
True, some of the phones available offer some of these features, but I haven't found one that I like. The SE w600 would be a choice, but I don't like SE's UI, I don't want a slide phone, and I want expandable memory.
The ZX10 has almost everything I want ... more so than any other phone out there now. Doesn't have BT, but if I can move things easily with the transflash card, I'm happy with that. I'd consider the RAZR V3x or V3i. The current RAZR's don't offers us much more than we already have.
The 8125 or Nokia 6682 would be good choices, but they're more than I'm willing to pay right now.

Someone claiming to be a Cingular employee at Howard forums is saying 3/8 for the launch date.
Today has come and I haven't seen anything on Cingular's site as of yet. Maybe in another two weeks.
:sigh:

I just hope Cingular isn't dragging their feet on this. They showed in a slideshow that was on their site that they saved 30+% having 3G carry the calls over regular GSM. That's a nice chunk.
Granted, the equipment has an up front cost, but it seems like it'd pay for itself rather quickly if the savings are that much.
I wonder if there are going to be different 3G plans we'll have to sign up for.
