Hi, I am currently interested in purchasing one of the new RAZR phones, however, I am unsure which of them I should get.
There appear to be several new models... moreover, I currently have service from vzw (Verizon Wireless), however I wouldn't mind changing carriers -at all- if it meant getting a better phone, overall.

If anyone could make recommendations or further elaborate on the different models, that'd be great.
I'd just like to note that I -have- read all of the technical specification information and whatnot that was provided by this, and other sites, regarding the various RAZR phones, but still, that doesn't say much, as most of it is all marketing.

People input please! icon_razz.gif

I personaly do not like Verizon due to a coupke facts that they are cripling the fone function for their own greedy .
I also traveling aboard so GSM is good for me cause it is globe, with a unlock GSM fone, i can buy a prepaid sim card to use as soon as i arrive as ..say.. Thailand for dirt cheap and avoid all that exspensive international service and roaming charges.

Depends what you want I have heard both positive and negative with the Verizon Razr. Some friends I know who sell Verizon call it hunk of junk and some call it the best phone they ever saw. I like my Razr on the Cingular network, but I have never tried Verizon either nor do I due the crippling of the features which allow one to make their own ringtones.

Verizon is the v3c and is currently the only cdma razr so if you go with verizon that is your only choice

Thanks for replying you guys.

Yeah, I am aware, unfortunately, that if I -stay- with verizon, that'd be my only choice...
However, as I mentioned if say the v3x was substantially better (esp. when taking into account all "features" that verizon has intentionally disabled), I wouldn't mind switching carriers.
Moreover, if anyone else here, has ever used the [unfortunately classic/notorious] Verizon UI... don't you just want to kill yourself? icon_razz.gif
I digress, I really would like a RAZR phone, however, the verizon crap has grown from a mere nuisance. to full blown pain in the ass, to finally a major impedence in accomplishing simply tasks.

Unfortunately, one additional thing is that I'm not sure what the 'deal' is with the v3x is. Where is it presently being marketed?

Any further commentary would be greatly appreciated! icon_smile.gif

Yeah, that's what I thought.
Is it just me, or do the specs on the v3x look, overall, vastly greater than that of verizon's "new and improved" version, the v3c (taking into account functionality, as well)?
I mean, clearly it's [the v3c] is better than the original RAZR phone, however, verizon... and the fact it's not too spectacularly improved... - heh, albeit the dreaded verizon ui, etc. - leaves me wondering what to do.
If my interest is great enough I may, simply purcase a v3c, test it out, then return it. :\

Stupid vzw.

V3x is much better, i also heard that Tmobile will have the new and improveversion of v3 call v5 ( biger processor and 2megapix camera)to counter the v3c of verizon

cool!
Any idea when it'll be seen on the market?
(Re: T-Mobile "v5")

Too bad T-Mobile sucks! icon_razz.gif
heh.

Anyhoo, I'm not sure what I am going to do in this regard. I may, do as I previously mentioned, and purchase a v3c for a couple weeks, just to try it out, otherwise I may hold off for something else... or the next model... whenever that is *rolls eyes*.
