Ok, I have a Hex editor and DIY working. I tried using the included picture tables and some pictures come up, but very few. Most are grabled looking. I tried loading the bin in the hex editor and it loads, but I don't know exactly what I'm looking for. All it has is memory locations and such, but I don't know how to tell what is what. at this point all I really want to do is replace the before mentioned images, since it seems that anything more might be extremely tasking. Startup animation: I want the birds and T-Mobile logo instead of the butterfly. Shutdown animation: I want the T-Mobile logo that fades instead of the butterfly. Searching animation: I want the buildings with search lights instead of the compass. Text Message animation: I want the T-mobile mailbox and envelope instead of the red one with the heart...

Whoever made the graphics for the v200 must be very mushy...butterflies and hearts...

Anyway, it'd be nice if there were a way to create a proper picture table, then I could locate all the pictures

Once again, any help is MUCH appreciated!

Images start at $0700000..

OK edit #6 here... Looking deeper theres obviously a Table offset cross reference somewhere in the firmware that tells where each picture is located. So going to to see if we can find that so we can make pic tables much easier.

BE CAREFUL when editiing the PIC TABLE... The DIY routine is Basic when it comes to checking the fields and RELIES on the use of 1 TABBED FIELD and A SPACE to seperate them and will not read it correctly if you mess that up.

Youll notice that some of the offset addresses ARE CLOSE so if you look at E5 firmware the corresponding image in the t-mo firmware will be around the same hex offset area in that firmware. (Give or take a few)

I started to mod the table but maybe you will get YOURS done first and post it.

Hope that makes sense... Let me know how it goes.

Just another note....

Maybe someone MORE FAMILIAR w/graphics-compression can figure it out but DIY exports the image to an UNCOMPRESSED BMP file and then imports it back to a COMPRESSED IMAGE of **** SOME UNKNOWN **** type..

Does anyone know what compression/format it is? The header may be Samsung specific but I know the compression algo has to be 'generic'.

Once thats figured out, it will be MUCH easier to know what size images you can easily stick in to replace the existing ones without using FREE memory areas.

I believe the KOREAN/Asian culture of course differing from others those things arent really considered NOT masculine..

The little Angel/Fairie in the Cingular marketed n625 wasn't very popular at all either in the states..

I mean take KARAOKE... ASIANS created it and ITS HUGE!

Now your average 'English Male' might consider Karaoke to be 'Gay' and wouldn't be caught dead up there singing...Unless of course totally SMASHED icon_smile.gif

well... I understand what you mean, but I'm having trouble figuring out exact positioning. I got a couple of ther antennae and battery images to extract, but they too seem slightly unaligned. Unfortunately, these aren't the ones I'm looking for anyway. Have you figured out anything about the bigger images? I see some but they're inverted, garbled, and misaligned. I'm really not good at this, so you'll probably get finished first, or even before I figure out exactly what's going on.

BTW, you're right about the images... I didn't say they weren't masculine, I just said they're mushy... Also, bugs kinda freak me out, so I'd prefer not to have them icon_biggrin.gif

Edit: are you examining V25UVVL2 ? That's the original T-Mobile firmware.

Edit 2: you really are good at this, and quick, while I was posting you added another edit. Do you have AIM? we could talk back and forth faster there.

Only played with it a little more so far.. but to give you an update

I started several picture tables for it with different size images... Its far from complete but gives me a general idea where 'some' things are located.
I found PARTS of the images I believe you want, just need to adjust some of the dimensions and locate a few of the lost frames.

One problem is I cant remember what the images looked like exactly...(Startup and Shutdown)

Ill play a little more when I get a chance..

Oh almost forgot... If you want to search for the larger images 'Most' of them use a HEADER of 0x09 0x7F..

Figured out parts of how the image is stored but not all..

If you want to find the pictures that you are specifically looking for it might be easier to load onbe of the existing picture tables, right click on the table and select Export All Pictures to save them to disk. This will create all of the BMP with their associated picture numbers. Then you can browse them with any image viewer and once you locate the ones that you want, make note of their number. As you're going through this process just keep in mind that you will need to match the picture image sizes between the existing and what you want to replace it with. You cannot replace an existing image with one that is larger in size.

@Hogman99 that would be all well and fine if the the picture table matched the flash file. The tables arent close to the Domestic v205,v206 factory firmware at all.

So were creating the actual picture table to match so the images can be exported and imported.

I understand. All I was saying was if you want to know what pictures are in the V200 firmware and where they are located, dumping all of them and then scanning through the BMP's with a slideshow viewer might be a quicker way to get part of what you need.
