Hi,
This is my first post here. Nice useful site, by the way.
I'm looking for some general advice on buying a new phone, so I don't think I'll be short of a wide range of suggestions (posting here seemed to be the most logical place) . Because my requirements are a bit specific I've so far come up stumped when trying to evaluate phones as they all seem to have too many cons. The T68i phone looks great, and fulfils all my requirements below but the poor reception and reliability reports (crashing, slow etc.) of it is a bit worrying since I am actually going to use it as a phone. Does anyone own one of these phones in the UK and have it working fine? Is Sony Ericsson going to introduce something more 'colourful' and reliable in response to the Nokias? If they do they'll have a killer phone. Let me know. Onto my requirements...
- I am going to use it as a phone so good reception and text messaging is a must. As such the phone has to be responsive when 'typing'. However, I'm not one of these people who's on the phone every three minutes.
- I want to use my phone more as a PDA on the move, so I want to read my e-mail and store contact and appointment information so WAP and e-mail are important.
- I want to sync my phone with my computer so. Here's where it get's interesting. I use Linux rather than Windows so I want to sync with software such as Ximian Evolution so it is preferable if it supports IrMC for syncing rather than it's own proprietary standards, as the Nokias seem to do. Infra Red and Bluetooth would be nice although a data cable will do fine for now.
- A few games would be nice but MMS isn't important (can't see the point in it to be honest).
Apart from Nokias and Sony Ericssons I'm not that familiar with many other makes of phone so if anyone has had positive experiences with Motorolas, Siemens etc. then get your 2 pennies worth in, although a working T68i would be nice .
Thanks in advance,
David

some phones u might want to look at are: Nokia 7210 or Sony Ericsson p800. the p800 fits all ur requirement bu can get quite pricy...up to 700 US dollars. the nokia is also pretty good but itsn not that much of a PDA. and its not good for someone who might have big or chubby fingers.(ull be pressing 10 keys at once). also look at the motorolla T720. dont know bout the features but look at the review. but the Nokia 7210 gets better reception then p800 and t68i.

I would also say you should get the p800. Very nice, get it with a good contract and you can get it for £40. More like a PDA that you can make calls on than a phone that is a PDA, if you see what i mean.

I'm looking for a PDA phone with the features of Nokia 3650 and Tungsten T combined in one. Is the P800 the closest thing?
