Ok, so these are the settings I have used and this works the BEST - SO FAR...the movie still gets choppy at about 1 hr in...This is with ImTOO 3GP Video Converter (full edition - the trial or whatever only lets you convert 3 minutes)
Summary:
Duration: 02:14:56
Bit rate: 164kbps
Video:
Format: h263
Size: 176x144
Frame rate: 25.00fps
Audio:
Format: amr_nb
Bit rate: 0kbps
Sample rate: 8000Hz
Channels: Mono
I think I put the video butrate at 150 - It says 164 for some reason, I think it always ups it some during conversion somehow/some reason...Not sure. But, I'm going to try to do 100 and then maybe 50 if possible...The default bit rate for ImTOO is 40 but the files always say "Not enough memory for operation" on the phone, so maybe the 100 wont or the 50...I'll keep you updated.
Also, The bit rate for audio says 0kbps, I set it to 48 like the other guy a few posts back...Im gonna try to lower that too and see if it doesnt slow the movie down.
One last thing it says I use FPS 25...I set it to 11 during conversion.../shrug, dont ask me why it says different stuff AFTER the conversion...Haha!

EDIT: nvm i figured it out.. but can anyone tell me if there is a way to play this horizontally? instead of vertically? thnkx again

Horizontal? Why? In any case, I dont think so...But someone else might be able to shed light on that a bit more.

Man, hardly any dam thing works perfect...I even tried the bitrate 64 and fps 15 like the poster said a page back...Still not flawless.
I broke down and did FIVE (yes 5) fps and 75 bitrate and it worked good...but man, the video runs hella slow =P

i think i figured out a way to stop the slow downs. I suggest you guys use Windows Movie Maker to split the movie into smaller segments - like 15 minutes or so and upload those segments into your phone. That way it doesn't slow down and you can watch the whole movie.

Just thought I'd share:
I was able to put videos on my SLVR with no problem.
I used the videora Ipod converter (free videora.com)
Settings for the profile:
Video codec : Standard MPEG 4
Image Size: 176x 144
Video bit rate: 64 kbps
Frame Rate: 15 fps
Audio : 32 kbps
Sample rate: 8000 hz
Channels: mono
videora does not allow you to select some of the settings, but if you manually enter them (64kbps for example) then it works.
Also does anyone know if there is a way to fast-forward or skip.
What I've been doing is splitting the files into 20 minute clips...then changing the file dates to make them appear in the correct order.

Thanks for the program suggestion - BUT, what program did you use to split? Man, took me like 5 days to find out that the .mov file I had could be split with QuickTime Pro (w/ registration you get pro - to split movies)...
My findings were just about the same as yours bud, I have a video that's 2:14:xx minutes long (that's 2 hours+), I had to split the movie into 3 parts using QT Pro, which then made my files 45 minutes in length...This ran just fine on my phone with the above settings (or near it - actually, QT Pro can also export to 3gp format <grin> - so it made it easy.
But, again, what program did you use to split your movies? Cause next time i'm sure the movie I will get will be in DVD format or something like that...
THANKS!!!!!! Hope this also helps some other people.
