Service Provider: Cingular |

I have two problems i need help with, I just purchased an unlocked Motorola Razr off ebay my service provider is Cingular.
The first problem is my call forwarding settings won't allow fax, data, or voice to be changed. All seem to be locked to forward to my voicemail number when i try and change the settings to off they revert right back to forward if inavailable settings ? anyone ever have this problem ?
Second problem is everytime i recieve a voicemail i get a text message no word just a symbol it looks like an ariel emitting signals ? I think these two issues could be related ?
any help would be much appreciated !

Not sure about the first - does cingular support those features?
For the second:
Try bit 4 first - if it doesn't work do bit 1
Seem 0032_0001
offset 02 -
bit 1: BLOCKS THESE FEATURES: Call barring, Call transfer, Info Services, do not read VM number from SIM, Voicemail ^@ text messages, Multi-Line Support, My Network List, Manual Network Search (1 on, 0 off - set to 0 to UNBLOCK these features) some of these features may be SIM dependant anyway, so activating it on your phone may not actually allow you to use it
bit 4: ^@ and _@ VM Indicator SMS Msgs (1 off, 0 on) (**DOES NOT WORK RELIABLY**)

Unfortunately I have the same problem with my Razr v3xx. Sometimes when the battery gets low it reverts to call forwarding automatically. Also if I program in my forwarding number, eventually it reverts back to some unknown number that must have been programmed in at one time.even though I bought this thing new(supposidly). Anyway It looks like another bug to me in the long line of bugs that Motorola seems to have with the Razr phones, and probably others too.
I wish they would hire programmers that use common sense to program these phones. The menu's suck backly. There is no excuse for having to go that deep into a menu sustem to do anything. PLus some of the features are where they don't belong. Some are no longer programmable, like the left and right softkey at the top of the keypad.
They make these so comfusing that I can only imagine how much trouble older people and those not technically inclined have. Motorola needs to hire people with COMMON SENSE!
