My wife has a Nokia 3595 and will be travelling to Italy this summer. It does not appear that the 3595 operates on the frequecies available in Italy so when I asked the TMobile store rep yesterday about upgrading her phone to something comparable that would work in Italy, he suggested that I would do better buying one online somewhere.
Does anybody know where I can get an international phone that works with TMobile for a good price. We orignally paid $150 for the Nokia phone without a contract extension.

Try Ebay.
you need to find a phone that operates on 900/1800. try to find one that's unlocked and you can buy a prepaid sim in italy. it will be much cheaper than using your t-mo service.

Thanks.
Would that allow us to call her from the US at "regular" LD rates--we can currently call international for 15 cents per minute?

you would pay whatever your calling plan allows, it doesn't matter what she uses.
sometimes it's more expensive to call a mobile phone international than it is to call an international land line. That would be the only thing to check on.

Thanks, I had read that post. It was our intention to call her from home where we pay about 15 cents for International LD... we are aware that TMobile charges 99 cents per minute when roaming in Italy according to their web site. She can pick up AT&T calling card and call us from a hotel phone cheaper.
