I can't upload mmfs created at 40 chords. MY model is the e715, shouldnt it be able to support it?

Well, thanks for the product and tutorial.

even with new version, no dice . . . . so you changed it to 5.0 right? It still doesn't say it works for win 2000

Delete psmplay.ini in the C:\WINNT dir. And try again with 5.0 maybe it will work.

hi, i have been following the guides posted and i must say it's quite easy especially if you are using the psm player v5. just wanted to find out if there is anyway to delete the melody once you have downloaded it into the phone? i'm using a v200 and but there is no delete option in the funbox.

First & Foremost, i love the support this forum offers and a great tool so props to the don.

OK, i have a Nokia 7200, as you probably know the mobile is somewhat new on the market.

Heres the dilly, im using a infra-red dongle to transfer files from my PC.

Im not sure if im going about it the right way but the way i am converting my files is as follows:

1. File, Open the MIDI file
2. Create SMAF
3. SMAF 40 Chords
4. OK
5. OK

Go Back to PSMPLAY

6. File
7. Create MIDI
8. OK
9. OK

Now everything is fine, the midi is created as instructed.

I then transfer the new MIDI via infra-red.

My Phone bleeps and then i click open ringtone on the cell itself.

I get the message ''Unable to Open File''.

I try another method time i cut the original MIDI file as per the option in PSMPLAY.

Then i do exactly the same procedure as outlined above

Heres the problem,

When doing the cutting task i was using as original MIDI file called Friends.midi (i know im sad but i had nothing else)

What i noticed was that when i cut from 0 to 398, then follow procedure and finally send to fone it plays back fine.

But if i choose to cut 0 to 399 or any value above 398 and transfer the cut midi after carrying out procedure, i get the same error message ''Unable to Open File''.

Even more bizarre is the fact that every midi i have come across has a different cut off point and as you can imagine this is a real pain in the bum and takes time establish

Please can anyone help me understand:

1. Why this happens?
2. Is there an easier way to know the cut off point?
3. Is there an easier way to transfer these midi's?

Please help in any way

The Nokia website does have a datasuite which i have tryed using aswell, but i cant seem to make a valid connection between application and fone via infra red. When i try to do this, i get the error message ''Wireless connection interrupted''. I was told by someone that because iim using Windows XP, there is an issue with the I/O ports as something gets blocked. Can someone clarify in idiotic terms for me what this issue is please??

I apologise for this being so long but id appreciate any such feedback and am thankful for any persons time.

Thankyou

I've tried a variety of fun things to get new ringtones: here are the failures ive encountered:

used Mp3s and converted them to mmfs:
As of now, i've only found one program: Mobile music polyphonics, which is a very useful tool.....if you pay $29.95. Otherwise it converts ur song for only the first one second.

Converted mp3s to wavs; wavs to mmfs:
(48kHz, 16 bit stereo), the wav files are saved as MMF files (with winamp and PSMPLAY respectively) , which then comes up with "Wav is not convertible for this format" Used SMAF 40 chords for that. With 40 chords, a file is created, but playing it only results in silence. Making the smaf in lower chords (I used SAMF 16 chords (J-SKY)) successfully plays a low quality but acceptable sound; but it's only for 10 seconds! (max bytes was 131072)

So, any response or comments would be great! thanks for reading
