Hi Kiefels,

Thanks for the quick response, I have checked what you said, it says I have com 1 and com 2, it says both devices are working properly but it says that when nothing is plugged into the PC anyway, so im not sure if it is or isnt working still. I have only one port on the back of the PC that the cable fits into so i cant go wrong with that but no software i use is detecting when i power the phone on. I have got in touch with the seller of the cable and he said it was working fine when it left coz he tested it on his phone.

Anymore help will be brilliant as im losing hair drastically and have this lovely phone that i cant use yet.

Thankyou very much

Did you ever solve this problem..... I have the same issue and I have already used the cable to flash my d600e but i can't get it to work on my girlfriends..... it's driving me mad as there must be some order or something that gets it going as when i press the power button nothing happens!..... I have read loads of guides and they all say the same thing and that's what I copy.... driving me mad!!!!!!!!!

Some 600's are temperamental when it comes to getting into TAT mode.

If you are using a D500 serial, flashing cable with a 9v battery connection and it works with the 500 it will work with the 600.

I have worked on 600's and some do indeed seem to be fussy. I had to even purchase another cable because one wouldn't work with mine then all seemed fine. But the next 600 I got worked fine with my old cable.

Just play around trying different things.

Restart PC, don't plug phone in until you need to, remove phones battery then replace after a while, try cleaning out the cable port on the phone with a thin piece of card or the corner of a folded piece of paper.

I am no different to anyone else on here. I have a d500 cable and I can work on 600's with it I am no expert and do not do this for a living. I learned by trying things out and I made mistakes just like others have.

I have tried so many combinations and the thing still won't work..... it's driving me nuts!

Like I say, I know the cable works as I used it on my phones and this is simply another D600E from Orange.... why does it have to be so complicated!

Are USB cables any better as I might buy one of those instead... I have a great firmware and want to get rid of the orange junk for my girlfriend. icon_devil.gif

Usb cables are usually either just for flashing or just for unlocking.
Serial cables do both.

If you are in the UK I could do the flashing for you.
I wouldn't charge as that would negate you trying to DIY.
