Hello everyone,
I've just purchased a D600e and an unlocking cable with software and I cant get anything to work. I have plugged my cable into the com port on the back off my PC and connected my phone to it; I run the software to the part where it asks me to turn on the phone (which doesnt need you to power the phone on completely) but nothing happens, its like as if nothings is detected. I cant see what im doing wrong and cant work out a way of eliminating what the problem is, if I can work out if my port is working ok i can eliminate that but then i have the problem of finding out if its the cable or the software or something im doing wrong.
Software im using : WinImei writer ( i also have oneNAND downloader )
Cable : Im using the serial port cable with the 9v battery attached (not sure of its name but i know its the right one)
If anyone could shed some light on this for me i would be very greatful please, I just want to at least get the PC to recognise that the phone is connected.
Thankyou very much

To check your cable is being recognised by your computer:
Click on the "Start" button on your task bar at the bottom left of your desktop screen
Highlight "My Computer" and right click on it.
Scroll down to "Properties" and left click.
Click on the "Hardware" tab of the box that pops up
Then Click on "Device Manager"
Scroll down the list that has appeared until you find "Ports (com & Lpt)"
You should see a list of ports that are available/in use by your computer.
The Serial port will be called COM 1 see if you have it.
If so then when you open your software in your "Settings" make sure the COM port is set to COM 1.

Hi Kiefels,
Thanks for the quick response, I have checked what you said, it says I have com 1 and com 2, it says both devices are working properly but it says that when nothing is plugged into the PC anyway, so im not sure if it is or isnt working still. I have only one port on the back of the PC that the cable fits into so i cant go wrong with that but no software i use is detecting when i power the phone on. I have got in touch with the seller of the cable and he said it was working fine when it left coz he tested it on his phone.
Anymore help will be brilliant as im losing hair drastically and have this lovely phone that i cant use yet.
Thankyou very much

No. The computer won't detect anything when the phone is switched on. Only when you are running the software.
The software normally detects if there is a phone connected to the computer by probing the ports. Set the settings to COM 1 and run the software.
When it comes to the part where it says "Power On the Phone" just quickly press the power button. (Not enough to switch on the phone) and the software may say something like "Connecting to swift" Then it should say"connected" or something similar.
Look at the phones screen. It should say "TAT MODE" with a blue screen. THis means the software has connected.
If no connection is made, it may be your 9v battery is dead, your connections are loose, maybe your anti-virus or firewall are interfering. (Switch them off)

I have tried replacing the battery on the cable and disabling the firewall, i do get to the bit where the software asks to power the phone on and i do just press the button with a short press but it just sits there waiting, ive also set the com port to COM1, this is why im confused that im doing something wrong, is there a way that i can at least test if the serial port is working fine as i do not have a serial mouse or anything to test it with ?
Thankyou ever so much for your time
I hope ive been more clear this time
Thanks

Okay!
The computer and the software are convinced you have SOMETHING connected to the cable otherwise it would spit an error at you.
Search the internet for One Nand Downloader this is the Software that allows you to backup and flash your 600.
We don't need to do this it' s just we want to utilise it connection ability.
Find it, run it and press "Start" you will get the usual "press phone power on" guff. Which you of course do.
Then see what it says in the box.
When you press the power on you should get a blue screen with "TAT MODE" appear on your phone. This means it is connected.
I had connection problems with my 500 and I found out that "Keep Trying" was the only way I could do it.
Things to try...
Disable your Firewall and Anti Virus software
Make sure your phone and 9v battery are well charged.
Disable or quit any other programs.
Press the power button briefly more than once if you have no success first time.
Try with the port settings on COM 2 if you still have no joy.
If after exhaustive trials you are still not connecting then your cable is not a flash/correct cable or it is faulty.
Send it back and get either a replacement or your money back.
REMEMBER...The Customer is ALWAYS right!
If you do get it to connect. "Hurrrrayyyy"!! now all you have to do is take this newly aquired knowledge to your IMEI soft.

Hello again mate
I've tried absolutely everything, even tried another PC and still no joy. I tried everything you said, Ive been trying oneNAND, Swift and WinIMEI program that i purchased off Ebay that is supposed to be the proper software to use that they recommend for the cable i have. I would be prepared to send you the cable for you to try it and pay you something for your time and if it works i'd pay you to send it back to me, i really am at the end of trying, Ive used all the computer knowledge i have and failed.
If you would be prepared to let me send it to you then please get back to me , but if you decide not to i would understand and im really greatful for all your help anyway.
Thanks loads mate
