All right. Looking over some of the phones I have narrowed it to
Moto E815
Lg vx4650
vx6100
vx8100
Samsung a950
I ONLY CARE ABOUT RECEPTION. I live on the fringe of two networks. Verizon and Alltell. I am sticking with verizon but the alltell tower is closer but all my friends and family got verizon so it is cheaper to call them. From what I have read I need a tri-mode right?
Thanks for your help!
What do you think is best and worse?
Are they any better (reception) than my vx6000? thanks guys!

8100 is not trimode and neither is 815!
6100 is great if you need a trimode phone and camera is pretty decent

What 815 is not trimode!?
It sounds like motos seem to have the best reception for fringe areas even more so since some you can turn to analog only.
What is a good moto with trimode? THanks!

I just bought a Motorola E815 and the receptions is so good I can't believe. I will never, ever purchase an LG or Samsung phone again.

I bought a Moto E815 2-months ago based on forum reception reports for fringe areas. The phone is excellent - good to high - Great!
This week, my wife bought a second E815, but reception was 2 bars lower than the 2-month old phone, usual "very low". Reset (batt. removal didn't help), phone replaced by Verizon. Same, lower reception. I swapped antennas and batteries, confirmed all settings are identical. The new phone is consistently poorer than the old one. The phone drops calls, so its not just the reading - and I used the voice command as a check.
Conincidence? Something changed at Moto? Any ideas? I want to stay with the E815's (will be trying external antennas), but I need the new phone to work as well as the older.
Thanks,
Ken

The Motorola e815 is much better than the LG if you like being professional. LGs are more customizable...
