The past couple of days my Razr has been acting up? or it might be the service. I have had this phone for almost a year now, and known areas that I had good reception, now drops calls. I will be on the phone with 5 bars, then all of a sudden it will go silent, and i watch the bars go to 0 and then drop. this has been happenin the past couple of days and i'm not even moving. I'll put the phone down, be on a call with my bluetooth headset...i look to see the bars, and then it will just drop like described above. Is this my phone or the service?? I removed the batt and the sim card and it still does it. Will calling cingular do anything for me???

More than likely its the service (network). They might be working on the system in that area. Cingular has alot of crap going on right now(with the merging and all). Give it about a week or so and see if it doent progress. But if it does keep up its your phone.

from what you are describing it is the network... Cingular is phasing in the "all Over" network across the country... basically its the pre merger ATT network and the pre merger Cingular network being combined into one big network... normally takes 3-5 days to complete

I thought this was already done, or being done last year??? I live in AZ, if that helps, but it's really annoying...and this was happening around midnight my time, which I figured they wouldn't be doing any type of work at that time???
What exactly goes into this network transition/merger process?

well a quick way to see if its your phone is to put your sim in a diff cing phone , you can also try to go to a store (corp) and see about geting a free replacement ,

it makes more sense to do the disrupting work in the off hours... less people affected
