Hi,
I just got a new black unlocked motorola razor today and cant seem to connect to im. I called up tmobile and they sent me this text message thing so I can now connect to tzones but they told me they cant help me with my im. So I went down to a tmobile store and asked them if they can help me with my im problem. They told me that since it's an unlocked phone I will not be able to connect to im at all! They said I would have to get a tmobile razor in order to connect to im. Is this true? Someone please help me..... I'm going to return my phone if I cant connect to aim....it is very important that I have aim. Any help or advice would be great! Thanks in advance! icon_kiss.gif

yeah, what the guy at the store told you is right. that is unfortunately the problem with buying unlocked phones, you cant always get the full advantage of the phones when you buy them unlocked. i suggest if you really want aim, you best return what you bought and buy one from tmobile.

here is the procedure

Configuring an AIM screen name:

From the standby screen, select "AIM" by pressing the Right soft key.
Scroll to and select "AIM Account".
Scroll to and select "New".
Enter the AIM screen name, then select "OK" .
Enter the password for the AIM account, then select "OK".

your RAZR has the software loaded for another provider... a flex for tmobile will load the necessary software for tmobile... you can find info in the MOTO forum

I have the same phone as you do with T-Mobile. My AIM IM worked find until Feb 12, 2006 when I try to log in the phone shuts off and restarts I and when I get on my PC at home it says I am logged on in two places. I have called TMobile on this and they say there is nothing they can do about it. That it is an issue with the phone. They say I can IM through TZone but that is using my minutes up.

I am not sure what to do at this point they sent me a replacement and it does not work at all.

Have you or anyone else using the Samsung E335 have this issue?

IM through T-Zones does not use your minutes. Your account includes limited access to T-Zones, which is housed on the WAP deck. When you access T-Zones from your handset it bypasses using your minutes and goes straight to the data feature housed in your account. If your phone supports AIM through T-Zones then you can do so. Keep in mind that if you do not have a text messaging feature, then each instance of chat is counted as a text message and is billed at .10 each. If you pay 5.99 for unlimited T-Zones, if you access AIM through T-Zones you will not be billed as a text message as the unlimited T-Zones includes unlimited IM.

If your phone runs like Java applications. You might be able to use all the im clients on the phone. look on website like Getjar.com (It seems like legit website demo/free versions of programs for phones. Direct links to the software authors etc.) although the IM client might use GPRS instead of txt messaging which would be what i would want myself for an IM client.
