Not true. If you've got a two year contract they'll expect you to honor that. You probably won't get un upgrade option for another 9-10 months.

see that wont work because cing knows where they do and dont have service, and when you move youll first have to prove that you are moving to a non servie area, and secong give location of that area,

There is a clause in the contract stating that they do no gaurantee service as well covering themselves from this. So even if you move to an area where you have no service you are still obligated to finish your contract or do a transfer of service and get out of it that way.

Hey I worked for BellSouth who sold Cingular and dealt with them more than my share. If you are having severe issues with your phone, you can go in the store and let them know repeatedly and plead your case...sometimes depending on the brand of phone they have it's own warranty and will honor that thru the manufacter. Also check your upgrade status for they do allow you an upgrade 1-2 months before your service contract expires. If you're only 1 yr through, call them and ask about disconnecting, if they ask why be honest, they'll understand why you have a problem and should be able to help resolve the request.

I am a former cust serv rep and by policy you have to serve 11 months of a twelve month contract and 21 of 24 months, anything before that you will have to do their special pricing which is a two year contract for one year pricing.

Yeah, but there are other things.

1). If you move to a non-service area and you cancel, the ETF waiver is dependent on circumstance and the rep's decision in the cancelation department.

2). Upgrade policies vary from region and other internal things. If you live in the Northeast, then you can upgrade 18 months after your last upgrade if you initially signed a 2 year agreement. Still 11 months. If you live anywhere else, it is 21 after your last 2-year upgrade.

3). Other upgrades can be offered under special circumstances. Cingular offers exceptional upgrades where you sign a new 2 year contract but you pay the 1 year price, and that's if you're not eligible for a full upgrade. If you pay something more than $75.00/line, then you can upgrade 12 months after your last 2-year upgrade.

I am (still) a customer service rep... the 21 of 24 and 11 of 12 rules were discontinued 1 dec 2005

all blue customers can migrate at anytime as ling as account is not past due and there phone number is in the same market as the residence

You would normally be eligible to upgrade after 18 months. If your average monthly bill is higher than 79.00 for the last three months, you can upgrade after 12 months.

As far as getting out of your contract because you don't have service where your moving, that's wishful thinking. icon_wacko.gif It isn't going to happen.
