I think it's ridiculous how at&t's mmode service works. I have the $7.99 service that only allows for 1 mb. I did not realize that they charged 1 cent for every kb that you go over. I checked and I have used over 5 MB so that means my bill for this month will be 40 some extra dollars. Why in the world would they charge like that? Verizon, for example, just lets you use your airtime. That sounds a bit better to me.

AT&T has horrible data plans. That is really confusing considering the number of corporate customers they have on their service. They don't support circuit switched data access and their GPRS prices are ridiculous. Sprint and T-Mobile have vastly better data extras. Sprint offers good data deals on their Vision phones because so few if any have the ability to run as a modem for a laptop.
If T-Mobile had better coverage in my area I'd switch over to one of their plans with the unlimited GPRS package. I'd love to be able to browse the web while I'm out and about. Doing so with any of AT&T's data plans would put me in the poor house pretty quick.

its your fault you went over 1mb. don't blame the company for your mistakes. And your asking why we don't have our data plans the same as verizon? well thats what makes AT&T different from other companies. You guys complain about how this works, but a lot of customers like it (better than any other company)
