I had a V220 before, it worked great.
I now have a Razr, it works great as well and I got MPT working with it within 30 seconds
My girlfriend has a V551. I installed MPT on her computer (no other phone has ever been installed on it), go through the exact same steps as the V3. I choose USB as my connection method. I plug in the phone as instructed and it recognizes it as a V547. No matter what I try, I cannot get MPT to install this V551 phone.
I even tried setting it up as Motorola USB modem, that didn't work either.
I have downloaded every imaginable driver I could find on the internet and nothing. This V551 will not work with MPT.
I have XP SP2.
MPT 3.40i
Any ideas?

What version of MPT do you have? Try live updating to the latest version (4.04)

The fone has been flash with V547 flash, so does not matter what version of MPT you got it will still gonna say what it is untill you re-flash it with V551 flash. But i don't see why it's bugging you so much

None of the above worked.
The computer will not detect the phone no matter what I try. Does anyone have V551 specific drivers?

ok now that i slow down and understood your problem, do this.
after intialized fail there should be a generic pic of a fone on your desk top, now treat it as areal fone.
menu-->setup-->F6 general setup-->communication-->modem exchange-->choose from list--> on your left, you should see motorola GSM choose that, on your right look for V551 choose that then click finish . It should work now if not try V547 if not still go to device manager--> and look to see if there is a USB motorola modem there at all.
If there is one and it got a yellow question mark then you nee to do driver update--_> choose specific location then point window to look for it in MPT folder . Sample : C:\program\mpt\inf

Thanks, but I tried all of that already as well. It still will not work on either computer.
