Hey all,
Ive had a v400 for about a year now. This is my second one actualy. I had to exchange the last one for this one a fiew months ago cuz the other one had almost the same problem as this. The problem is that when i make a call i cant hear the person's voice. I its not a volume issue cuz i cant hear anything at all. This happens half way through a call or from a start when i make a call. I wont even be able to hear the ringer when its dialing. This issue happens when calling voicemail too. Today i was talking to a friend and the phone made a static blip noise and the voice cut out. If i switch to speaker i can hear the person but when i switch back i cant. Shakin the phone didnt make a diff. I thought maybe it would be a loose connection.
My warrenty just expired last month and i dont want to go get a new phone quite yet. Im thinking maybe a firm/flex upgrade might fix my problem??
Ive modded computer hardware firmware before but have never tried modding cell phone firmware. Has anyone ever heard of or had the same problem as me? Do you think modding the firmware will help or is the phone junk? I dont care about turning it into a v600 or anything (wich would be cool though) but just want the thing to work. What versions would you suggest i mod to? thanks for any advice in advance.

I just did a master clear on my phone but to no resolve. If your suggestion to fix the phoen involves taking it apart Im willing to try. Im pretty sure i should be able to do it.

If it happens during calls - i.e. sometimes works sometimes doesn't and you have not modded the phone in any way, then it does sound like hardware to me

This is a known issue among triplets based phones, mainly happens in the V300. We actually have this issue listed as a known issue at work under the V300.. I will try to find out tomorrow the root cause as it escapes me right now, but almost 100% sure its h/w. I know that it recommends an exchange if cusotmers say they are having the issues you are having.

oh man, hopefully its repairable. like i said i no longer have warrenty and this is my second phone. my gf had same issue with v400, she returned it 3 times to get same issue again with diff phones. Finaly she gave up and bought a nokia. Only moto i have a good opinion of so far is the razor. my friend ran his over with a car and it still works.

Yeah it I remember it saying that it usually happens after a couple months of use.. its like a problem that with the manufacturing of the handset.
Believe it has to do with the speaker connection.. forgot to look today was pretty busy

Yeah not completely convinced its hardware but i dont know. Every time someone calls me it wacks out but sometimes if i turn the phone off and then back on about 50% of the time i can get it work semi decently or normaly. It usualy conks in a fiew seconds into the call. While it was working i got person on other end to turn up volume and yell at me and no audio distortion so i dont think its a torn/blown speaker or anything. Shaking or bumping phone didnt get it to start or stop working.
