Lately I've been having problems getting a good signal with my Motorola V300 & Tmobile. I went to my mother's house and her Samsung phone had a few bars and mine did not.
Is there any known issues with the Tmobile network and the Motorola V300 phone?
I did a search and couldn't find any specifics.

That happened to my dad's v330. He had to get a new phone.

the V300 being a tri band phone (900 1800 1900 mhz ) in all likelyhood there is no 1900 mhz service in that particular area.. her samsung probabaly has the capability of 850 thus she gets signal
Tmobile only transmits 1900 and relys on other companies for 850 service
the V300 does not have the 850 mhz band in the phones reciever

If you have a V300, it has to be older, which can affect signal performance.
Try changing this setting:Menu>Settings>Network>Network Setup>Speed set it to Continious, not Medium.

that particular setting appears to be a data setting... would not affect a voice call or reception at all

I'm having the exact same issue with my V300.
I can't get a signal pretty much anywhere, and when I do happen to get signal, the call often gets dropped. Other people with TMobile have strong signal standing right next to me, but my phone shows nothing. I took it into TMobile to see if they could update the firmware or something but they told us they don't do that and the only option we had was to buy a new phone.
I've been reading accounts of people who have updated their phone firmware and it has improved their reception, but I don't know the first thing about doing that. obviously I'd need a cable. I saw some kit at Costco but it wasn't cheap enough to just try it out.
We spent ~$200 for this phone, 2 years ago. got just over 1 year of actual usage out of it before it became useless. 2000 minutes usage.
I guess it's just trash? Or is there anything we can do?
Thanks!
