Is the housing plastic??? if it is I wouldnt change the whole housing. It becomes very flimsy and can be broken very easily. What I did on mine was change the face plate, battery cover and the bottom piece. but I didnt cange the inside pieces. Like the hinges and the keypad area. Its very easy to do(well after you do it like 50 times)icon_smile.gif. If any questions just e-mail me I will be glad to help you out

Awesome! I'll probably take you up on that offer! I haven't gotten the full housing faceplate yet. I'm pretty sure its all plastic, so you suggest just getting the faceplates that aren't full housing ones?! well i guess i can do that.... icon_biggrin.gif thanks for your help again. when i get the faceplate i'll probably be asking you what to do!!!!

Before replacing my V3 faceplace the exterior display would show the motorola logo when opened for use. When I closed the flip the theme background with date and time would display. After replacing the faceplate the Motorola logo shows in both opened and closed mode, it no longer switches to the date/time display mode.

Did I mess up a switch in the hinge during the faceplate replacement that toggles the display's open/closed mode?
