Hi.
It doesn't look like this forum gets a whole lot of traffic, but if anyone could help me, that would be great.
I have a unlocked V300 phone that I bought. It was made for T-mobile. I need to switch the carrier to Dobson/Cellular One. I put in the sim card, and it doesn't work. For instance, I'm only either in extended area, or I have no signal. When I can make a call, I can't hear anything through the headset.
I was told that T-mobile phones used a different frequency than Dobson/Cellular One, but I was also told that it would still be possible to make the switch. Is there anything I can do, or am I just gonna need to buy a phone that wasn't made by T-mobile?
Thanks.

the V300 is a triband...850 / 900 / 1900 mhz... it should work fine as long as there is nothing wrong with the phone
the North American operating freq's are 850 and /or 1900
try a manual network search and see what comes up on the screen

Yeah, it seems like it should work. I don't know, that is just what the sales rep told me.
I tried doing a manual network search, but it just stays in a continuous search.
Also, everytime the phone turns on it goes though the searching for network process but never finds anything.

So would it be easier to replace the receiver or just get a new phone? I got this one unlocked off of Ebay.

Have been with Cell-one for several years and its the best for me. Tried others but for me its been great. Gone from the West to Mid-West no problems.
