I just purchased a MPx220 cellphone (thats locked to cingular booo hate you cingular) and well was thinking about replacing it over my V620..... But is this phone really worth it? I like my V620 but seen this phone and liked the 1.3mp camera compaired to the V620 VGA..... Is this phone really worth the time and money to get it unlocked? Or is it just a waste?

I have a mpx220. The phone is really cool in a lot of ways and a drag in others.
It does have a 1.3 mp camera. But the pictures are awful. Very grainy.
You can get a memory card for the phone, I have a 1 gb one and use the phone as a mp3 player/phone. The installed media player has no equilizer and the third party ones that I have trie lock the phone up when you get a call.
You can run all sorts of programs on the phone. I have a Bible program with 5 different programs that I really like. I also have pocket streets and trips. I used this several times.
The phone has infared and bluetooth that both work well.
I don't know what a V620 but I do like the MPX220. I think it is worth it.

the mpx 220 and 200 got some bad press as they were tricky to set up for both the end user and the service provider... from what I hear once the settings are in correctly a very versatile phone

Mpx 200 and 220 stinks. 1.3 mega pixel camera but the pictures looks like drawn by kindergarden. There r some functions which will let u down.

Yeah, the camera sucks. Speakerphone as well. But I think the MPX220 is worth owning. I have a Nokia 6620 that replaced my Audiovox SMT5600 because I prefer Symbian use over Windows Mobile. Was thinking about getting the 6682 as an upgrade to my 6620, but I decided to get the 220 instead...partly because it's quad band, and I travel a bit.
Is it worth unlocking? I'd say yes. Just hope you didn't pay a lot for the phone. I got mine for 130USD, already unlocked and unbranded.
If 1.3MP camera quality is a big issue for you, and you don't want to shell out a lot of money for those that have 2+MP, try the Nokia 6681/6682. Image quality is close to that of the SE S710a.

I have not one but two MPx220's. (Don't ask why!) I like the phone with the exception of the poor reception. I just do not believe the "built-in" antennaes are as efficient as the external ones.
