I have a samsung E720 from orange (well got from orange now has o2 on it)
I need the firmware to remove all the orange rubbish esp the side bar. Does anyone have a free copy of the e720 firmware?

hi,
you can get the unbranded firmware from here: http://www.anvi.it/forum/index.php?showtopic=2291 The unbranded version is E720XXEE1 in the E720 section.
You can get Optiflash 4.16T and instructions on how to flash, from here: http://forums.mobiledia.com/topic4919.html

Hi,
i just downloaded E720XXEE1. I would like to know what this ''XX'' means. For the Netherlands i think i needed the ''CE'' but i cannot find such version. Is there dutch language in the XXEE1?

as far as I understand, the language is set when you power on your phone. The sim card you are using will determine the language if it is included in the firmware. Unfortunately, I dont know if dutch is in the E720XXEE1 file. However, this is the unbranded version from samsung so I would imagine it's quite possible it is.

i do have two more questions. so the ''XX'' doesn't have anything to do with country's or that kind of stuff? I mean that I can use this firmware without problems here in europe? and my second question> do you know if there are ''CE'' firms available to download? if you know can you please tell me where i can download from?

sorry for this second post but i have another question. if there are no ''CE'' versions to download is it possible to back up a ''CE'' firmware from another e720 (friend of mine) and then use that back up for my e720?

Just found details of languages on unbranded firmware. Don't know if its E720XXEE1 but it doesn't include dutch. Have a look yourself.

hmm oke..thnx! do you know anything about my back up question? and before my samsung i had a motorola e398. i could download language packs for this phone, are there any for e720?

o.k. go to the following website http://forums.mobiledia.com/topic4919-0-asc-0.html
there are details there on where to download optiflash 4.16t and how to use it to backup your friend's phone and then how to flash it to your own. Don't forget, you need a serial flashing cable (available off ebay) and not a usb cable. Read through the instructions very carefully before flashing. Let me know how you get on. good luck!
