BE CAUTIOUS!! Most places that offer these phones, offer them with a seperate contract, independant of the wireless carriers. in the terms and conditions it states that if any changes are made on your account within the first 6 mths u wil be charged a cancellation fee up to $200 as well as a charge for the difference in the price of the phone. (Hint: if u get a razr for free, and then change something on your account ull get hit for 200 (3Rd party ETF) plus $400 the full retail price of the phone. PLUS, with unlocked phones, u will have no internet access, no MMS use, and possibly no ability to Txt. Unlocked phones cannot be covered by warrenty, so if you have a manafacturer defect, guess what, ur screwed. and Insurance companies won't touch em. So all in all Id stay awayu from em. just my humble opinion.

Took the words right outta my mouth! I work in retenton so i see these crack-pot third-party offers day in day out. best advice in the world: If you want a cell phone, regardless of the provider, go with the company auth'd offers and phones. You may have to pay a little more but u get much in return.

age old rule prevails again....a guess thats why its an age old rule.
one more thing please, dont know yur business but what do you know or hear about the LG VX9800 The V SmartPhone, the kick ass sound? and big screen... the Vcasts of clips and such? paired with Verizon....
this is a reg. offer but a bit clouded.... a .99$ offer on ebay from newphonestore seller, with new contract/2yr...then when you confirm the by and are asked to pick a plan and reconfirm, I am prompted to pay $99, but a blutooth earpiece is added, claiming a 70$ value, so the net is only 29? more but what else is still out there to slam me.?
anybody have a comment on newphonestore on ebay??

many people sell unlocked phones through ebay...other sites...vendors...they are generally sold at a higher price for being unlocked...meaning they can be used with any provider. they generally do not come with a service agreement.
people buy unlocked phones to get a sweet ass asian phone or replace an old one by just swapping the sim without dealing with any service agreement.
phones cannot be unlocked for a CDMA provider such as verizon. only for GSM carriers. if you want to access SMS/WAP/MMS...you just need to enter the proper settings for the carrier.
