Ok guys this is my first post and here is the deal. I just got brand new verzion RAZR phone which I bought from ebay. I called verzion to hook it up, because my other phone (also verzion) screen broke. Now as I was trying to install it they told me that the phone was LOCKED! Now I didnt know what that meant untill the guy told me. So my question is, is there any way in unlocking the phone so I can use it? Or did I get ripped off? I was wondering if i switched the sim card form my old phone to the new one would that work? Thanks again for any help

Whoa...you have Verizon as your service provider, but you got a RAZR that uses a sim card...Am i missing something? Verizon uses CDMA...and if you're talking about the V3c, then that phone can't use sim cards...programming is done directly on the phone...If you got a GSM RAZR, then you can't use it on Verizon...even if you do unlock it, having a GSM phone won't work...so pretty much you got ripped off, unless you and the seller didn't really communicate that well...Did you ask the seller, or was it noted in the listing that it will work on Verizon? Probably it's best to contact the seller, return the phone, and see if you can get a refund.

I'm thinking of buying a razr (unlocked) off amazon.com, and I was wondering can anyone tell me if we can increase the memory with a MMC or SD card, and also can we transfer ebooks to the phone via bluetooth?
ps: My provider is Cingular in Austin Texas.

if it's a V3, then the memory isn't expandable. if it's the v3i/v3x, it is expandable. ebooks...i've never heard of anyone doing it.

Thanks
I was wondering cause i can read ebooks on my nokia 3650 by installing and using a program called "ebook reader." And I recently bought a 128MB MMC card to expand it's memory. So I kinda want a phone with similar abilities. The reason I need a new phone is the nokia shuts off by itself, even when the battery has juice.

your nokia 3650 is a smartphone. smartphones are distinct from PDA-based devices running operating systems. so that's why you're able to download & install 3rd party software, e.g. ebook reader. i'm not sure about the razr, but if it supports 3rd part software it has only a limited interface to java or brew.
so if you want to install apps onto your phone, best bet is to go with either a smartphone or a pda-phone. try and check out any of the featured phones on this website that is available. to help you on looking for a pda- or smartphone, look at the form factor. it will state in the field "pda, windows mobile, symbian, etc." hope that helps you.
