Just finished Angels & Demons from dan brown (also wrote the davinci code) it was good...started slow, ended well. I heard they're making a movie of it.
I'd recommend it.

"Winesburg, Ohio," by Sherwood Anderson. It's a classic for a reason.

Chronicles, the Bob Dylan autobiography. Actually, I'm halfway through it, but it's great so far.

"The Dispossessed" by Geoffery York. A must read for any Aboriginal person. Every chapter is about something or someone else. It talks about the residential schools, the addictions that are faced, and the racism that goes on. It makes me cry every time I read it. I have read it about 10 times.

God Bless You, Dr. Kovourkian by Kurt Vonnegut. a short read but the dark humor is in abundance. it is about a guy having a "controlled" near death experience so he can go to heaven and interview all these dead people. the interviewees include Shakespeare, adolf hitler, and issac newton.

Everyone seems to love dan brown but me!
I read Da Vinci Code, and although it was an entertaining read, I thought it was kind of trashy. I found the film even trashier!
