Another bump . . .
Currently reading The Vampire Armand by Anne Rice. I have to ask a question, does most of Rice's stuff involve homosexuality? It was already sitting in the bathroom, and I've read everything else in their but the romance novels. Prior to that I was reading Demons Don't Dream by Piers Anthony.

It wasn't a crime novel, Heinlein wrote largely science fiction, but he was as much into political and societal commentaries as about the science. Moon was wrote in the 60's, so some of the science may seem a little off, and you'll have to get used to the fact that the Narrator, main character in the story spends so much time with computers that he leaves out a lot of pronouns and such. It can be a little hard to follow at first, but adds to the charm once you get used to it.

Been flipping through Dune: House Atreides lately. You know what, it's just not as good as Frank Herberts' stuff, but I think a lot of that had to do with Frank obviously put a lot of study into governments, and other social philosophies, and his kid and Bill Ransom, are really just taking the world that Frank built and creating prequals to capitalize off of the success that the Series had. None of the new 'prequals' have and of the depth of story that Frank had in his. Essentially they tried to use as many of the characters from Franks books as they could, and tied them together in ways that they shouldn't have. If you're a fan of the Dune Universe, you'll visit those stories for a quick fix, but I wouldn't expect anything deep or meaningful again. The pair doing the new stuff just don't have it.
