After searching for a USB cable for my V220, I discovered that my camera's cable works fine with the phone. I downloaded the Motorola Phone Tools package and used it to back up my phone's address book. Is there any way to tell if there are software updates for the phone itself, and how to download them?

Have a look in the flashing section (top of the page). What is the current s/w version on the phone?

I don't see that heading on either the phone (V220) or in the Motorola Phone Tools software. Maybe the V220 doesn't support it.
