This is what happened. i bought a D-500 from Hong Kong which is an unlocked phone. i put my At&T sim card in and it worked when i came back to the states. last week, i was playing with my phone (i know i shouldn't and i won't be anymore ) and i saw PUK code. well...i didn't know what it was and i randomly put in random codes until i destroyed my sim card. so i called At&T and they said i have destroyed my sim card and needed a new one. so i got my new At&T sim card in the mail and try to put it in my D-500 phone. then the screen asked for "sim lock" number. i tried many different combo and it didn't work. i checked so many websites for codes but my phone doesn't take * and # at all as the password. can someone please tell me how to unlock the simlock?? and i didn't even set one for my sim card and plus, the sim card is new. now i'm so upset that i can't use my phone. so please, if anyone know how to unlock it, please reply. a million thanks to y'all!

the PUK code is available from customer care... do not enter any more codes or it will fry your sim (its a security feature)... if your phone reads sim blocked that is what happened... if its still reading enter PUK customer care can give you the unlock code...if not ATT will send you another sim...

there is a difference...they mean different things
what exactly does it say?

Hope this response isn't too late....
If you got your new sim and it is asking for a "sim lock" password, try 00000000(8 zeros).
Also, you can try a full reset *2767*3855#
That sets all settings back to factory settings.
I have used that reset code many times with no issues, but I assume no responsibility for any damage to your phone...
