I may have missed it, but has anybody responded to the several people who keep mentioning that the .3GP files sent over by Bluetooth are going into the phone under My Downloaded Videos (which are unusable as ringtones) instead of under My Downloaded Music?
I have a t519. When I looked in both this thread and the one about ringtones for the t619, I got good suggestions on how to convert files to .3GP, but my phone cannot receive these as sounds, only as videos. Is it possible there is more than one way to send a file from my computer to my phone via Bluetooth? I am simply right-clicking on the file in Explorer and using "Send to..", then "Bluetooth", then my phone. Is there a way to drag and drop these files into the proper folder on my phone?

sorry to tell you BIAbenny - but once the speaker is damaged thats it - no fixing it - the internal amp can produce more than what that little speaker can handle - found out all about it after i screwed mine up also
Tmo knew what i had done also
Well live and learn

* #8999*8378# you can use to adjust the volume.
oh and.. I figure prolly some of you want these two
1.) *7465625*638*00000000*00000000#
2.) #7465625*638*00000000#
3.)*#7465625#
code 1 sets the network lock (personalizes network)
code 2 unlocks it
code 3 shows status.
after you've unlocked everything, reboot the phone. Subset code is 00000000 |
Hi, I'm new here in the forum and just got the t509 and I tried this unlocking code, and it seems to work. The status for all those options changed to inactive. My question is is this unlocking code means that I could use my phone outside the US?
Cause if it does then I'll save time to call tmobile to send me the unlocking code again.
Thanks a lot !

The method quoted below (from page 2 of this thread) WORKS for me without any problems on my T509s when I followed the directions closely (especially step 5). I was able to put 3 full-length 3gp songs on my phone, and the quality is much better than mmf. The songs were correctly put in the sounds folder, not my videos folder as some people mentioned. Thank you for this!
| missxlc wrote: | First you need 2 things (or at least this was what I needed)
1) Bluetooth on your computer
2) Quicktime pro (because you need the 'export' feature. For those who do not have quicktime pro, there are ways to get it easily, but I will not get into that right now)
After you have those two things and after you have edited your mp3 or wav file,
1) open the mp3/wav file in quicktime pro.
2) go to 'files' and click 'export' and window should pop up ("Save exported file as:")
3) near the bottom of the window is export and a drop down menu, set the box to 'Movie to 3G' and then press 'options' (which is right next to the drop down menu)
4) Set file format to 3GPP (Mobile MP4)
Set the next drop down menu to 'Audio'
Set Audio format to "AAC-LC (music)"
Set Date Rate to "128 kbps"
Set channels to "Mono"
Set output sample rate to "44.100 kHz"
Set encoding quality to "best"
Set frames per second to "1"
Click 'OK' and then save. There should be an exporting process window that pops up after you save.
5) This step is important.
After connecting to bluetooth, DO NOT use the drap and drop method because it WILL NOT WORK. INSTEAD, go to bluetooth in your t509 (make sure it is on), go to MY DEVICES, connect to your computer, press "OPTIONS", "BROWSE FILES," find the file and press "GET"
Your t509 should read and receive it and voila, you can set the 3gp file as a ringtone. hooray! |

I discovered that I can just transfer (via Bluetooth) regular mp3 files to my phone, but they are usable as ringtones ONLY if they are less than 30 seconds. I have an app called Audacity that lets me edit the mp3s and chop them down to 30 second bits that I like and those are the versions that I have transferred to my phone, where they are working fine as ringtones for me. Just make sure they are not more than 192 KBps. No need to convert them to 3gp files.

I have several mp3 sounds on my t509. It allows me to set some of them as ringtones, but not some of the other ones. The ones that can be set as ringtones are the ones i purchased through my phone. Anything thing else that was sent to my phone cannot be set as a ringtone. Is that supposed to happen? Does it have anything to do with the size of the mp3 file?
