As I mentioned previously, mp3 files I transferred to my phone would work as ringtones ONLY if they were not more than 192mhz and not longer than 30 seconds.

I can't seem to find a working version of the Pim File Manager 2.0 for my T509. On the drop down lists on Samsung's site there is no T509, there's a T519 and a T609 though. I tried the T609 program, but it didn't work. I run it through installation etc, but at the end it says my phone is not supported. I have a bluetooth device but I won't be able to do anything with it unless I can find a way to synchronize them I suppose.

I have seen so many people saying that they found ways to convert there MP3s into Ringtones on the T509. I've tried all of the ways and none worked for me. So here 's what I say: Anyone who says they can do it, I will pay you to do it. I will send you my list of edited mp3s and the person that can convert them into useable ringtones fo my T509 I will pay about 1$ per ringtone; that's about $50. I know many of you will say if I'm willing to pay you, Why don't I just pay T-mobile? The answer: their music sux. I want my songs edited my way. So if there are any takers can leave me a voice mail at 708-212-4947

Hey - I'll be glad to help you - I am DDLB and my instructions are on page 1. I don't want money - just email me one of your mp3s and I'll email it to your phone - you can check out the quality and see if you are happy with it and we can figure out what you need to do so you can do it yourself. dbecker5@cinci.rr.com

This is the procedure I use (now)
1. Trim an MP3 (mp3 trim - free download)
2. Convert to Wav (mp3 decode - free download)
3. Convert Wav to MMF (Yamaha wscma2u.exe)
4. Rename MMF to .MID
5. Email to phone
6. Save media in my sound file
The thing I'm not happy about is it's not loud and you can hear static. I do not have T-Zones
It might make a difference that I am using T-Mobile and have unlimited text messaging and MMS

Try this i've even included all the software you will need.
To make ringtones for t 509
Choose song edit down to 25 secs i use wave pad, save as MP3 open in quicktime hit file down to export i use 3GPP settings it works fine. Hit options button 3GPP next audio next AAC-LC (music) now i set the data rate at 160 it worked output 48k channels stereo encoding best frames setting not nessesary. Put in Bluetooth exchange folder your adapter software should have created one when installed, go to bluetooth on phone my devices connect find file in folder select get, then find file in filemanager/sounds set as ringtone. My wife has the same phone it works great.
You guys should look around a bit more before you start freaking out .

I posted several months ago (on page 2 I think) and a couple more times on using the Mp3 to Wav to MMf to rename MID and mailing to phone. Now I am pulling my hair out. I cannot get the Bluetooth method to work where you convert to 3gp. I have done everything right and it did work several months ago but now it just won't work. The 3gp always goes to the sound folder. Hey toolguy43 are you SURE this method still works on your wife's phone? I cannot figure out what I am doing wrong. I have read over the posts and tried all suggested methods several times. Is there anyone who will confirm they were able to actually Bluetooth a converted Mp3 and it goes into the sound folder. If so could I email you one of my MP3s and could you try it (maybe it is my MP3s)DonnaB

Yes it works i've done it several times and am still using it . The most important thing is the Quicktime Pro which i included in the zip, except the one text file leading to a web site which i forgot to delete so ignore that . J ust keep it under 30 secs and put it in the BT exchange folder to move it over. Also playing with the data rate yields different results so play with it .

I forgot to mention that in Quicktime Pro I checked the box that says open up as read only - not sure if that was what did the trick? DDLB
