i got the phone, and wanted to try it for a few days before posting an opinion.
first, a little background.
i am coming from a motorola v330, which has all the features that this one does, and i was quite pleased with the phone. the reason for the switch is that the wife dropped her v330 in a cup of coffee, and it was toast. she likes flip phones, and i dont particularly care for them, so i gave her mine.
what i think about the phone:
voice quality is good, and people dont have muchtrouble hearing me, but most of the time i use my BT headset.
i really dont like the fact about the not being able to use mp3 as ringtones, but oh well, its easy enough to convert them to mmf.
i like the functionality of the BT, its more secure than the v330, and there are more options to do things.
the screen is big and clear.
havent used the vioce dialing yet, as it was a pita on the v330, and i dont know if i want to cause myself the aggravation.
overall i really like the phone, but if you compare it to the slvr it lacks some features that i wish i had.

I have a t509 and I like it a lot- especially the screen.
I mostly have used nokia tablet phones- 5190, 3390, 6610, and the new flippy texty one that I Can't remember the model of- 6690 or something like that?
I tried the nokia flipper like the 3595 or some damn thing and it SUCKED, busted all up in 2 falls and the screen went out. Mooving parts are a bad idea on a cellphone.
but I'm a heavy user.
Comparing the SLVR with the t509? I haven't used the SLVR but it feels heavier yet approximately the same size... feels more substantial. However, the screen is smaller than the t509 and I'm not wild about the GUI. But nokias *especially new ones* have the best GUIs ever IMO.
t509 is problematic though, I'll toss it on the counter and it slides under the microwave. I can never find it in my pocket because it feels like a credit card. One of my buddies almost lost his when he dropped it standing on a pier. (slid through the boards of the dock). Vibration function is weak and it doesn't ring/vibrate at same time, it has a "vibrate before ring" option but thats it. And battery life is mediocre- about 35 hours at moderate use. I plug it in every night.
but moderate use for me might be pretty heavy, heh. My bills are 25 pages long.

I am liking my new samsung t509, except for the fact that I have to scroll down an entire menu just to delete a picture or video. I like phones that have the "delete" already displayed as an option on the screen. Instead, I have to click on "options", scroll down forever, and delete. Is there a quicker way? I also miss my ringtones from my x495. I wish I knew how to transfer the ringtones to my t509.
