You can not get that phone unlocked. Why don't you go get a sk2 since they were just released in AUS? Maybe sk3 will be released in the next year down there.

Sidekicks will not be unlocked by T-Mobile, it is an exclusive product to T-Mobile and they do have the right to deem them locked to their network which they have. The data package and features for it are exclusive to T-Mobile as well and won't work with other carriers since they don't support Sidekicks. If you use it with another carrier you may be responsible for data charges etc... (how I understood it at least).
So in other words, don't bother.

If I were to contact T-Mobile for a SIM Unlock Code (for use w/ a Cingular SIM card), what should I ask them in the Email?
Should I tell them that I am using a Cingular SIM card?
What if they ask me for my account number as a customer?

Tmobile does not unlock sidekicks. They will NOT out unlock codes for sidekicks. This topic needs to be locked since it has be answered about a dozen times already.
