You can't hard-reset it on your own, that can only be done by a Nokia Care Center by flashing the firmware again on the phone.
The phone itself only offers a "soft" reset which only resets the settings.

if you mean a master reset (back to factory settings)
From the stand by screen, select Menu by pressing directly in on the navigation pad.
Scroll to Settings, and select by pressing directly in on the navigation pad.
Scroll to Restore Factory Settings, and select by pressing directly in on the navigation pad.
Enter current Security code and select OK by pressing directly in on the navigation pad.
NOTE: Default Security Code is 12345.

Thank's guys, I think I may need to have it sorted as I used non-nokia headset and now no matter what I do to it, it still thinks that the headset is connected, but it isn't !

I found this old tech note....
Jan 31, 2000 Incorrect Profile Displayed
There have been several instances where the incorrect profile has appeared on the display of Nokia Products.
We have received several complaints of an incorrect profile being displayed on Nokia product. An example of this is the phone displaying Headset or Carwhen not attached to the portable hands-free or car kit. Nokia has determined in a case when a phone incorrectly display a profile name the system connector located on the bottom of the phone likely has some type of liquid damage. When the system connector is allowed to get wet, corrosion quickly appearsand if not cleaned immediately has the potential to slowly spread throughout electronic components.
This phone will likely be deemed liquid damage by Nokia technicians andreturned to ATandT unable to be repaired. In this case the customer maybe billed for the refurbished phone unless it is promptly returned. Always setcustomers expectations, Nokia inspects all units returned after exchange anddetermines if a unit has been liquid or physically damaged. Determining liquidor physical damage is not ATandT responsibility, this responsibility belongs solely to Nokia.
In a case where a customer complains of this problem have the customer pay close attention to the system connector for corrosion, the corrosion maybeconcealed or very noticeable. To correct this problem and avoid the potential of being billed for a replacement phone the customer should removed the batteryfrom the phone and clean the system connector with rubbing alcohol and a toothbrush. This will likely clean up the corrosion and eliminate the problem immediately.
