Can that keypad be fitted onto my 3650???????? icon_biggrin.gif icon_biggrin.gif

No, it's not only the keypad, they redesigned the complete arangement of the buttons.

Yes James, i know that. What i wanted to know was that can a lookalike be made which can fit into the 3650.
Like the ones made for the older phones....e.g. a cover for the 3310 which looks lik that of a 5210.

I can't help wondering if a fascia like the one for the 3660 would be possible for the 3650. I mean, if small plastic rods were to run from the keys on the fascia to the actual holes where the buttons are?

Or would that be completely impossible?

Thats wat i meant 2 say. icon_smile.gif

As I wrote: impossible due to the arrangement of keys.

3650 has a round arrangement, 3660 has a normal arrangement. "Look-A-Like" Covers work with phones which have the same arrangement of keys.

Look at the round arrangement. Try to imagine, how much work and how the cross beam must be to fit an normal keypad-arrangement.

Screenupdate is impossible, because the 3650 has maybe the software to create 64k colors, but the hardware wouldn't make it, even if you get an 64k-display in it.

And for your "small plastic rods"... they should be very thin (or you get an very thick phone because of all the cross beams). They would be to weak and break. Metal should do it, metal which doesn't bend easily and is very thin. Should be very expensive. Or impossible (as I strongly believe).

That's what I said - the new screen alone makes it impossible to upgrade (unless done at a Nokia Centre maybe).

No, completly impossible.
It's like a computer. If you've got only a 256 colors grafic card (like in old times icon_biggrin.gif ) you won't get 16bit color through getting a new monitor. You've got to exchange the grafic card.

(A Big Wild Theory)

From wat i think i know icon_smile.gif , all the processses of a 6610 are basically controlled by 1 major microcontroller chip(like the motherboard of ur comp)????

So a firmware upgrade would mean changing or modifying its software, but any hardware changes would mean dealing with the chip itself and changing that would be changing the pcb (lik changing ur motherboard)which would mean changing everythin inside.

Does anythin that i said make any sense????
Or is this complete bullshit???? icon_biggrin.gif icon_biggrin.gif

I don't get the point icon_biggrin.gif but you gave me an idea.

A cracked firmware could deal with the higher colors. But I think it's to hard for some none nokia employees icon_biggrin.gif
