MAKES ME WANNA SCREEEAAM! icon_w00t.gif

iight I got my cell phone off of ebay(k750I)(I know! but it was hard to find). So Im assuming I go thorough the manufactuer warranty to get it replaced. I've had the cell phone less than a year. Assuming the sony does cover dust under cell phone screen. Im not going to take it apart because the would void the warranty. I searched all over sony support didnt find anything. I KNOW SOMEONE OUT THERE MUST HAVE THIS PROBLEM!! can someone please please assist me! (ie past experiences, phone #'s, e-mails) somethen !! I keep getting more and more dust under it. so PLEASE HELP!!

thanks, icon_cool.gif

was this a used phone?

if so you probabaly dont have the original reciept (proof of purchase) therefore the warranty is null and void....

see the warranty at

If you have proof of purchase, then that shouldn't be a problem with you bringing it to a service center to be fixed. If you live in the US and you talk to a rep for SE, he/she might tell you that they can't do anything about it because it's not carried by any US carriers. Ask for a lead manager and tell them your situation until they finally concede (I can't remember the details that much b/c it was a while back, but that's what I mainly did--the main service center in Florida might be the easiest way). Hope that helps you.

Was the seller an authorized dealer? Anyway...

Go to SE website->Contact->click on "See customer support phone numbers" and pick your region->ask if you can be transferred to the main service center.

But like elmo1 says, read the limited warranty to familiarize yourself...just in case you might blurt out something wrong.

If anything else, find someone in your area who can fix your problem professionally. Check out Craigslist and find someone who can help you in your area. Hope that helps you.

Great news! it's real easy to slip off the cover and clean the dust on a Z500.

Found instructions on the Ericsson site I believe it was:

hold the phone in the palm of your hand with the hinge facing towards your wrist.

Press down - don't be afraid - on the cover with your thumb - near the little window that covers the camera lens, and pull the cover away from the camera.

The top slides off you can clean the dust away, and then slide it back on

I noticed my cover was sliding a bit and then searched desperately for an online disassembly manual and stumbled on the above instructions.
