We were ATT customers. Same complaint you've heard- can't upgrade phone unless we switch to Cingular plan. Don't want to lose my really good ATT plan, so I purchased an unlocked Cingular LG f9200 phone on eBay- swapped SIM cards, and voice and messaging work fine. But cannot connect to internet. Called ATT Cust Service- bottom line is that Cingular uses MediaNet, my plan is mMode, so can't connect. Seems there should be some way to input a different APN, username, pw and IP address to get this phone to connect- any help out there?

elmo, you still rock, but I'm trying to solve an mmode problem. I am able to connect, and can get to mmode, but when trying to connect for ringtones, I receive an http 500 internal server error. I also tried to purchase a ringtone from the Cingular site on my computer and send it to the phone, but the text with the link never made it through to my phone. I suspect I'm missing something somewhere... I was able to enter all the settings, but had no place to enter the HTTPS port 8080, or the DNS of 10.250.1.10. Suggestions?

nope, no place for the https- not sure if that's keeping me from being able to make it as far as downloading the ringtones. Any suggestions to solve the http500 server error?

...once in mmode, any link listed that we try to connect, we get the http 500 server error or http 502 bad gateway error. We're definitely connected, but going nowhere to any of the my mmode catagories....no clue what to do from there... it's like I can talk out to get to mmode, but can't get any info back, if that makes sense.

nope, times out trying to connect to 10.250.250.250. At least with 10.250.250.054 I can connect to medianet, which takes me to mmode and all the catagories, so I'm definitely connected to those sites, just not able to download anything without getting the http 500 server error...
I really appreciate that you were trying to help here... I just wish I could figure out the last piece of the puzzle!
