I have purchased a MOTOROLA V360 T-MOBILE phone in Fry’s electronics without service plan ( as I have one already). And I took the phone to India, and able to use with local SIM card(HUTCH) after I got the code from T-MOBILE to unlock the phone.
Now I have a new problem, with the phone I am not able to use GPRS. Can someone help me in setting up the phone? Or it’s not possible at all as the phone software is for T-MOBILE?
Thanks

you need the local service GPRS settings first... then apply them to the phone....call your service provider... you *may* need a flex update as well

Thanks for your reply. I got below instructions from local service provider to setup GPRS. But i am not able access "web sessions" at all. Seems all web-related stuff is under t-zones?
----------------------------------
From the main menu, go to Web Access. Select Web Sessions.
Select 1.[New Entry], press the middle button and select "New".
2. Key in the following:
3. Name: Hutch_GPRS
4. Homepage: http://wap.yahoo.com
5. Gateway IP: 10.10.1.100
6. Port 1: 9201
7. Leave "Domain 1" blank
8. Service Type 1: WAP
9. Leave Gateway IP 2, Port 2, Domain 2, Service Type 2, DNS 1, DNS 2,
10. Timeout as it is. Need not key in or do anything to these fields.
11. User Name 1: Leave blank
12. Password 1: Leave blank
13. Speed (BPS)1: 14400
14. Line Type 1: ISDN
15. Go directly to GPRS APN and key in
"portalnmms,"
16. User Name:
17. Password:
18. Press "Done"
20. Set Hutch_GPRS as default. To launch Gprs, press
"Launch" after selecting "Hutch_GPRS".

T-MOBILE says the firmware does not support to go "web sessions" option when other service provider's SIM is placed in the handset. A firmware reflash is required seems as per T-MOBILE...
anyone has any other thought, that can help me?..

You need to do some seem edits
SEEM 0032_0001:
offset 2F - bit 1: WebAccess > Web Sessions Menu (1 on, 0 off) (menu item, may require update to mma files)
offset 50 - bit 1: Webaccess (1 on, 0 off)
offset 63 - bit 0: WebAccess > Web Sessions (1 on, 0 off)
offset 65 - bit 4: WebAccess/Internet (1 on, 0 off)

i am trying to make "web sessions" options available using p2kmenueditor. But i am stuck with a problem. When i try "open menu -> open from phone" i get phone not connected error. Somewhere in this forum i read i need to run pst phone programmer, is it's the case here too. From where i can download this "pst phone programmer"

PST is warez - links are not allowed.
You don't need p2kmenueditor - you need p2kman and my seem changer program.
Alternatively you could flex with a stock flex.
Either way you need to install the drivers - see the getting connected section of http://www.themotoguide.com/

Great, i just needed the driver files. Once i added them the phone got connected. And with just SEEM Edit, no mma_ucp changes required, i could see web-sessions. It's now upto configuring it and see how it goes.
Thanks for all your great help so far. I learned a lot.
