Thinking of purchasing an unlocked LG VX9800 phone to use with Cingular service. A few ppl have said that they think it might not work because it is CDMA, and that it does not use a sim card. I love the plan I have with Cingular, a promo plan you can't get anywhere because I was going to cancel if my AT&T phone switched to Cingular so they gave me a deal, and I am finally out of contract. So, I don't want to get back into contract and I personally don't like Verizon's services/fees either. Such as V-Cast etc. Any ideas? Is this a no win situation?

definately a no win situation for you. verizon's phones use totally different technology than cingular (CDMA vs GSM). its just not possible to use verizon's phones on the cingular network.

exactly, even if we wanted to, we can't activate a CDMA phone on a GSM network. but you have a plethora of phones for GSM, if you're looking.

if you like what the LG 9800 has to offer but want somethin that takes a sim card, consider the Nokia 6822. I was going to get it because I'm Nokia Bias, and I didn't know LG made cellphones. But I'm glad the LG works in my area.
