My ex-gf decided that hacking my phone would be the proper coarse of action to persue after we broke up and most likely before also. These are the signs ive noticed so far which have proven beyond a dought that she or her accomplist, have been snooping around in my phone. A good buddy of mine informed me of a phone call he recieved from my ex. Now, considering that she lives approx. 2,000 miles from me and has never held my phone and not so surprisingly, was never given the number, let me know that she gained access to my contact list 2) normally when the phones factory defaults are restored, the color scheme would go directly to pink, funny thing is, one day i noticed something strange. Upon restoring the factory settings, the color scheme started out green and stayed that color for about 8seconds, then reverted to the default pink. In addition, all of the system files now indicate they where created on 11/17/2088. except for a few he or she forgot which read the correct date of 1/1/2005. They also managed to put some texts that ive sent to her, back in my phone under saved txt messages. As of now, im not sure what all has been altered but to those who say you cant hack a phone, namely the good folks at T-Mobile, you need to wake up and acknowledge this threat, other wise, if left unchecked, the hole which is used to get in, wont be closed. Leading to the possibility of idenity theft and what ever the experianced hack has on his agenda.

It's impossible to hack the phone in the way you discribed it.
Even if, to do so you need to have physical access to the phone (for a really long time - up to several hours) and have special tools for branding or similar (which normal people don't have and I never heared of somebody outside one those big companies who has a copy).
The 6101 is a plain Nokia phone, nothing fancy that can be hacked.
(I guess) Since your phone is branded by T-Mobile the strange files are related to the branding.
Is it possible, you sync your phone and in that way the messages reappear?

The thing is ive never sync'd my phone with any pc or phone for that matter. Im thinking that they could have sent something through a text message. Either directly from the pc or from pc to a phone via usb or infrared. My knowledge on the subject is limited, but it only takes common sense to notices changes and differences on a phone that started out working fine, only to spaz out down the road all at once as though infected or simply had some files changed. Eventually the phone will find its way under my truck tire if i cant find a way to wipe the memory clean and reload the operating system. If you know of a less extreme coarse of action, feel free to enlighten me.

As I said: it's impossible.
You can't change files and you can't install anything that makes this happen.
The important files are in a part of the phone which isn't accessable. The firmware of the phone needs to be changed before flashing on the phone.
And nobody can edit a nokia firmware-file anymore.
Take the phone to a Nokia Care Center and let them install the newest firmware.
I just think the phone has a bug and you get all paranoid about it.

Lol, the last thing i want to belive is that the phones been hacked, its the combination of the details that changed and the way she retrived the numbers which led me to my current conclusion. You seem to know the ins and outs of cells fairly well, what is possible? By the way, her step dads a programmer. Lol, that doesnt exactly help when attempting to disregard the hack theory.

The following is only in related to Nokia phones:
Well, the firmware of newer phone can't be altered that easily as the one of plain, old monochrome phones (and even than with big limitations).
Today only the big companies like T-Mobile or Cingular are able to alter firmware but also only with limitations (change logos, add menu-points, add color schemes, etc.).
You can't remotely change the phone in the way you discribe. Remotely nothing is possible.
The worst "virus" for normal phones (smartphones are excluded) is a java-app which has to run and than tries to send sms to an expensive number. If you close the app, it will stop.
Nothing can install itself on the phone or run on its own.
For the third time: it is impossible.
If you have physical access to the phone, you can do stuff but it not as much as you discribed.
For the green color scheme: I guess the phone reacts just to slow to adjust to the forced T-Mobile color scheme. (I guess you bought it from them because you mentioned calling them).
As I said: take it to a Nokia Care Center and let them flash the newest firmware on it.

Would you happen to know the names of these applications? And whether or not they would need help on my end of the phone to establish a link between my phone and the pc? All aspects considered, no damage has been caused thus far, its simply the thought of them having the ability to view or listen to calls, and intercept incoming and outgoing sms that has me questioning all the possibilities. In this day and age, ive found it better to be safe, then sorry. I could sit back and just see if something happens, but i would rather expect the unexpected, to prevent it from happening in the first place.

Oh jeez....if you want preventative measures, just bring your phone to a Nokia service center. And like Bjoern said, have the firmware flashed. He knows what he's talking about.
Here's a bit of info. On smartphone OS's (Windows, Symbian, etc.)...they allow full software applications to run on top of the OS, such as games, organizer applications, and communication applications.
Your phone isn't a smartphone, it runs on a proprietary OS. The apps that can be installed are only Java or BREW-based. These apps are not that integrated w/ other features of your phone, and also the main user interface.
So there is no way that your 6101 can be "hacked". It was just some random events that just happened by sequence, and paranoia playing too many tricks with you.

Take the phone 2 the nearest nokia service center than tell them the phone's problem and they will give u a suggestion and dont worry with the problem. Its only restoring its original settings. And there is no way of java based mobile hacking.
