Wonder if any one has tried or knows whether this is possible. I know that the fla and cla files for the D600 are larger but wanted to know if it would be possible to flash my D500 with the D600 firmware. I dont fancy just going ahead and trying and killing my phone, just for the sake of curiousity.

Owing to several hardware differences between 5 and 600 handsets.
I would suggest that you DO NOT! attempt a 600 flash on your 500.
Of course you could always try it on a mates phone and if it bricks it you can say you dropped it.
But I admire your ambition. And who knows it may even start up but I should think once the software spots the faults it will crash.

the d600 is quad band and the d500 is tri band BUT the d600E is tri band. so you could try it on a D600E.
but then again the hardware is totally different like the cameras are totally different 1.3 mega and 2.0 mega..
its not worth it mate jus buy a D600 LOL

Hi,
I flashed my D600 several times (I tried with different firmwares). When I try to switch it on with the on/off button nothing happens (is dead). The flashing itself seemed to work ok and when I look at the status of the NAND and NOR in OneNAND it seems OK too. I use the serial flashing cable and I use an AC/DC Adaptor instead of the 9V Battery. The phone battery is still OK when flashing is finished: I tested it on another phone. Does somebody have any clue ?
