Just use yasa 3gp video converter to convert wmv to 3gp video.

Hello all! I'm new here, but my 8300 is not so new. My husband lost his older phone and I gave him mine and bought a new one.
Someone wrote: "IF I could find clear instructions on installing MP3 ringtones without potentially messing up the software I'd appreciate it. The fact that Verizon makes you buy decent ring tones is a shame becuase you'll need to do it with this phone."
Here's a trick I do to get any free sound I want...comes out pretty loud and clear:
* On the left side of the phone is a small button that if pushed, brings up the voice commands. If you hold in the button, you will instead get a voice recorder. Hit the ok button to start recording and again to stop. I've recorded nature sounds like my dog barking as well as sounds on the internet (holding the phone receiver up to the headphone).
*Once the sound has been recorded, it will save to your sounds under a random alphanumerical name.
* Unfortunately, you can't save as a ringtone at this point, So, I simply rename the file (just to make it easier to identify later), hit "send" and find my own pre-entered name in the phone book and send it.
*When I receive it, I open the email which now gives you an option to add it to save as ringtones (option 5) under the options.
By the way, if you want to record a phone conversation to blackmail someone later (heh! Just kidding 'bout the blackmail thing), simply hold in the small voice commands button on the left-hand side of the phone during conversation.

Does anyone know how to transfer the stored telephone numbers out of this phone? There must be a way to dump these to the sd memory as Verizon offers a service ($$) to transfer the phone data from one phone to another.

I believe bitpim is supported for this phone. I use it for my 6100 and it works great with your phone book, ringtones and wallpaper. I am thinking of getting a new phone and I want to make sure that it is supported by bitpim.

There is a good thing you can do on this phone for $1.99 - BACKUP your contact list. Press MENU - GET IT NOW - GET EXTRAS, and there you go. Just pay $1.99 (1-time fee) to backup your phone book - and it updates automatically every day at the time you select!
Don't worry, I don't work for Verizon, but I personally think it's the best feature for so little money! You don't need to hook up any cables, not worry about erasing the MicroSD card, or whatso-ever. The phone takes care of it by itself. Couldn't be simpler!
Then any time you need it, you can download it from their site. No idea whether if only on this phone or any other phone?

Love my new VX8300! Definitely glad that I stuck with LG as my phone manufacturer! Everyone I know who recently got new Motorola phones - including Motorola RAZR phones - had to return at least one phone before they got one that worked.
Along with my VX8300, I got a VX5200 for my technologically-challenged hubby. (Why buy a lot of features if he isn't going to use them?)
When I got my phones, the Verizon salesguys told me that the chargers were interchangeable. Before actually taking possession of the phones, I went ahead and ordered car chargers from my favorite discount site, thinking I'd be able to buy one charger for the two phones. Once I got the phones and chargers, I found that the VX8300 AC charger will work with the VX5200, but not vice versa. (Of course, the car chargers I ordered were for the VX5200!)
As I really only want to buy one charger/data cable to use with both phones, can anyone confirm that the VX8300 accessory cables will work with the VX5200 without a problem??
Software-wise, I use BITPIM to sync phone books, ringtones, and other media between my phones, and the latest version of BITPIM appears to support the LG VX8300. I just need a data cable that will fit both my phones.
Thanks!

So I used to have the Razr, hated it... actually bought the 8300 at cost and am loving it. However, I just bought a miniSD card and reader today and have been loading mp3s, to no avail. The 8300 is a windows based phone utilizing the windows media audio format only... which make my life, as a mac user, a pain in the @$$ , does anyone know a better conversion method from mp3,aiff,acc,etc to wma...??? I have found many ways to convert it from WMA to mp3 but nothing that does the opposite, w/o having a PC of course. I have been able to export an mp3 through media cleaner 6 to wma and it works, but I don't own media cleaner and am not trying to spend more money to play "mp3s" on a phone... any clue as to a better conversion method?
Cheers

I, too, am a Mac user. Are you insistent upon using wma?
If not, you may easily use mp3, although it is difficult to make playlists.
Go to http://forums.mobiledia.com/topic48042.html for a tutorial.
And/or, go to the following link for mac related help -
