I put an order in for two. One for myself, one for my brother. The phone looks like an upscaled version of the 8100, and slightly improves in some areas. When I'll get it, I'll go ahead and post a reviewo on it.
I currently have an LG VX-8000. Poor battery life, mp3 player as an afterthought, poor headset sound quality, but excellent RF, and it was replaced not even six months after its release.
So we'll see how the LG VX-8300 compares.

It came in the mail on Friday and the weekend allowed me to go ahead and try it out in various places.
I'll be working on my review today.

My 22 months were up on June 3, 2006. I have been using the lg 3200 for almost 2 years. Good Phone... So I got the new lg 8100 thought it was cool with all of the features and stuff. i didn't like the speaker phone part. I would call my relatives while on it and they said it sounds very bad garbled up and bad connection also. I traded in the 8100 for the 8300 on June 9, 2006. Thought it was a cool phone a little smaller than the 8100 also. So far keeps dropping calls and when I talk sounds like at the end of a work like ur spitting. Don't know whats going on with it just started today so I did the *228 to program for new signals. I think I am going back to my old lg 3200. Great speaker on it and reception!! Maybe because it's a tri-mode and the new phones are digital.... The motorola e-815 is way better phone than the 8100 and 8300. My dad and mom have it. They get a lot better reception and NO drop calls!! Go with the lg 3200, 3300, or the e-815. If u want a phone for talking. Just buy an mp3 player and a dig camera if u want all of the features.. Less frusterating. I know its cool and fun to have all of the neat features. But it's a pain an ass to try to have a decent concersation and all u hear is every other word and drop calls!!
thanks,jen

P.S. I can talk for over 3 hrs on the lg 3200 without dropping a call. If ur stuck with a phone that drops call because where u live, u can buy an attena to plug into ur phone also.... It's good for people that live in apartment buildings also...

I just upgraded after 2 years from the LG4500 to the 8300. I've seen all the rants and raves on the 8100 vs the 8300 and went with the newer model. The big seller for me was the bluetooth. I hate using the earpiece with cord while I'm driving. I got the bluetooth package for $80 that comes with the Motorola earpiece, leather case and car charger. So far so good. The earpiece syncs quickly with the phone and the sound is good. The voice training with the 8300 has been a bit rocky but has finally been ironed out. I like the camera, having not had one on the 4500. I haven't tried the MP3 player because I have to get the data cable to sync with my PC. The one drawback are the ring tones that come with the phone. THEY SUCK! IF I could find clear instructions on installing MP3 ringtones without potentially messing up the software I'd appreciate it. The fact that Verizon makes you buy decent ring tones is a shame becuase you'll need to do it with this phone.
