I read the whole thread and I also used google, but I have still problems with unlocking or even downgrading the bootloader of my V3. After connecting the V3 to my PC (WinXP SP2) WinXP say ... nothing. No new hardware found or anything. Even the included Motorola phone tools do not recognize the phone. If the phone is running in bootloader mode WinXP is able to see a Flash Neptune... device. I tried to install the drivers mentioned here earlier, which works if the V3 is in bootloader, but when I try to downgrade the bootloader, I only get "...couldn't find any valid interfaces..."
There are no problems if I connect it to my Mac. The phone is recognized as Motorola V3v or S Flash Neptune LTE respectively. Of course the problem here is that I don't have any downgrader/unlocker for the Mac.
Some more information:
Bootloader 08.26
SW Version: R374-G-0E.42.08R
locked to Austrian A1 Vodafone
...and it is dark blue
Can anyone please help me?

I already had a look on this "getting connected" website but my problem is that Windows ignores my V3 completely. I also tried to uninstall any motorola-related drivers as mentioned earlier in this thread, but it didn't work.
Could it be that the phone itself causes these problems. It's a V3v (I guess the second "v" refers to vodafone) or could it be the USB cable? I'm using the one which was included with the phone. But why does it work with OSX?
Do you have some other hints for me?

The system profiler of MacOSX recognizes a "Motorola Phone (V3v)", the only identifier I can find on the phone itself is "V3".
Bootloader is 08.26 and SW Version is R374-G-0E.42.08R. It's locked to the Austrian A1/Vodafone.
edit: I found some additional information. The V3v should have more memory (8MB instead of 5MB) and a better speaker

Its definitely a normal V3 then.
Try this:
Open any p2k program, and then connect the phone.
Divers are to be given from the RSD Lite directory (Installtion / Program Folder depending on the one u get)
Driver detection shall start. It will detect Usb modem, l7 phone etc...
It should also detect THREE different devices:
Accessories Interface
Motorola Data Logging Interface
Test Command Interface
Reconnect your phone if these are not detected.
They YET might not be detected.
Do this if that happens:
open regedit
goto hkey local MAchine \ System \ Enum \
Here you will have control set (I have controlset1, 2 and curent control set)
In each of them a folder called VID22b ... will be there.
check different places in this folder under all control sets. Wherever USBCCGP is mentioned turn it into USBHUB.
Then close registry and do the whole process again. Now your phone should be detected properly, and reconnect a last time.

OK, I think my Windows sucks. The registry structure is slightly different:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SYSTEM/ControlSet001/Enum
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SYSTEM/ControlSet002/Enum
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SYSTEM/CurrentControlSet/Enum
There's no VID22b or similar folder anywhere (also tried the search).
Maybe it's not the WinXP installation that sucks, maybe it's the VirtualPC emulation in which it runs. But on the other hand the emulator itself detects the phone, only Windows ignores it. I'll try to find a "real" PC.
Thx

Did Wafthrudnir solve his problem? I have a V3v from UK with vodafone and the traditional V3 flash file R374_G_0E.42.10R_PDS005_LP0039.SHX gives the failed message Error Verifying Subscriber Unit Info Chipset type does not match. I think I need to find a flash file which works with the Vodafone locked chipset. Does anybody know if Wafthrudnir was able to fix his phone?
