Hello, i have had a lot of problems with my V3. I finally (and i have no idea what i did) got MPT to work with my phone...
now....
I want to be able to use the programs PST/ MIDWAY and P2KMAN to:
-Put Java Games on My Phone
-Tweak various options via P2Kman
I have found plenty of tutorials on how to do this, but im having one major problem...
Anytime i run P2KMAN or PST, my computer does the following:
1. It makes the USB CONNECT sound
2. It makes the USB disconnect sound
3. It makes the "ANGRY" USB sound.... (3 short low pitched bell noises)
I have tried to set the com port in PST to 5, but it only lets me select 1 or 2...
If anyone could help me i will love you forever! (in a non creepy way of course!)
Thanks,
Chris

ok..... before the tutorial i wanted to start with a clean slate. so....
i uninstalled EVERYTHING i could find..
i uninstalled the motorola modem in device manager
im going throught the tutorial, and i got up to where you run the program RSD lite.
when i plug in my phone, it makes the angry usb sound again...
When i run the program RSD lite, it does the same stuff as the other programs, not detecting the phone.
At this point in the tutorial, it says a found new hardware dialog should pop up trying to install a "Motorola Accesory" which is where im guessing the problem is....
I must have installed this before and installed it incorrectly... does anyone know where i can find the "motorola accesory" to uninstall? Or am i wrong, and that probably isnt the problem?
Thanks again,
-Chris

You can try http://www.ic.sunysb.edu/Stu/cdigiamo/tutorial/v220/rev.html
Also try this:
Open any p2k program, and then connect the phone.
Divers are to be given from the RSD Lite directory (Installtion / Program Folder depending on the one u get)
Driver detection shall start. It will detect Usb modem, l7 phone etc...
It should also detect THREE different devices:
Accessories Interface
Motorola Data Logging Interface
Test Command Interface
Reconnect your phone if these are not detected.
They YET might not be detected.
Do this if that happens:
open regedit
goto hkey local MAchine \ System \ Enum \
Here you will have control set (I have controlset1, 2 and curent control set)
In each of them a folder called VID22b ... will be there.
check different places in this folder under all control sets. Wherever USBCCGP is mentioned turn it into USBHUB.
Then close registry and do the whole process again. Now your phone should be detected properly, and reconnect a last time.

Awesome! i got it working! Thanks for your help! I just have a few other questions...
I have installed 2 themes, but they arent showing up to select on my phone... I restarded my phone and everything...
I installed some java games. The problem is that when i run them it says "program expired". there isnt any way around this, is there?
Is it possible to change the animation and sound that plays at startup/shutdown?
Lastly would i want to flash/ flashflex my phone? What benefits would that add?
Thanks again!

I think you will have installed skins rather than themes. Makes sure you are looking in the skins menu.
Most java games don't work on the razr - that may be your problem - how are you trying to install them and where are you getting the message - from a program or on the phone itself?
The easiest way to change the animations is the startup&powerdown style nenu option in motokit
Depending on your current version you may get new features (video recording, more free space, multiple letter phonebook search)
You may also get quicker menus, better picture quality, battery life and signal - but these are subjective and minor at best for most people.
If you are happy with your phone its more convenient for most people to flash with a reflash file rather than a monsterpack, since a new flex will overwrite all files and settings on the phone

yeah... i did some other java games and they are working. so that is probably the compatibility issue.
i went into the skins menu this time and the new ones were there, but when i select them it just sets it to the default blue skin, not the installed one.
Is motokit a program?
Could you link me to a good reliable flash file?

Moto kit is a program yes
You need to check the skins folder is exactly the same name as the files - case sensitive
The latest reflash file is R374_G_0E.42.10R_B_reflash_mlp_MOTOX.shx
Bootloader: BOOT0826
DSP Version: 62343400
Phonebook: Multiple Letter Search
Video Recording: Capable
