No I can't keep my same number. Previously, I have moved from state to state and kept my old number by choice. I'm about to move again and won't mind changing numbers once I'm settled in one place for a while.

I believe my only shot would be moving back to my original state and migrate to Cingular there, and then move to my new state and then... but wait! I'll want to switch again to a local number anyway once I'm in a permanent situation. See, it is not AT&T/Cingular's fault. It is my current mobile lifestyle. Once I quit traveling so much I'll be happy to switch. But only once. After my last move.

call this number....888 867 4384 ... tell the rep that you tried it online and this was the number you saw on the screen... they will ship the phone to you... you will keep your current number...and you can change said number when you are settled... allow 3-5 days for shipping

Thank you for your help! I'll save that number in case I need a phone. Right now everything is groovy. This forum is wonderful. Thanks to everyone.

I lost my ATT phone 3 months back and I haven't been able to find a way to get my spare ATT phone working. I've been sent to 6 different stores and spent hours on the phone with Cingular reps trying to get a replacement SIm card. The best the reps can do is sign me up for another 2 year Cingular plan.

What are my options now? Can I buy a SIM card from Ebay and get it to work? I have to go on a urgent trip next week and I need my phone working by then. All help is appreciated. If this doesn't get resolved soon, I'd rather switch over to Verizon.

yeah. you can get one from ebay, then just call customer care to have it activated at 18662934634

as long as your account is still currently active, if it's not, it cannot be reinstated.

Just out of curiosity, have you kept paying the bill on the phone durring the 3 month period and did you report it as lost/stolen?
