Well i finally plucked up the courage to do a firmware upgrade on my V200 phone, it was locked to O2 pay and go with no speed dial function.
The upgrade was straight forward enough thanks to all the info and help on this forum, i backed up my E2 firmware first, then flashed it to F3, so now i have no more O2 bubbles when it starts up and shuts down and i have my speed dial back and it works with any sim.
But, and this is only one but, the background hiss when online / speaking to someone has increased quite a bit ??
Prior to the upgrade the hiss would start but then instantly reduce as i connected to the service, a bit like agc i suppose.
But now the the hiss does not reduce, just stays the same level.
Now i am suprised as i thought something like that would be a hardware thing not firmware.
Those of you who have done an update on your phone, have any of you come across this at all ?
Also i know there are a couple of codes for digital interference on and off, could it be this ??
Thanks....Colin....

Ok i have it sorted, that's interesting, it was to do with these 2 codes below.
First i tried DAI On, no luck, then i did DAI Off and bingo, it's back to normal now, minimum hiss. This is handy to know.
*#3243948# Digital Audio Interference Off
*#32436837# Digital Audio Interference On
Cheers Colin......

so after upgrading the firmware, the phone is locked to O2? try to use the V200 IMEI changer software to unlock your phone and while doing that make sure that your IMEI (*#06#) is the same as the one on the back of the phone. Good luck!

that is what happens when a mod reads your post and doesn't think it properly describes the subject at hand. Oh well, at least the search doesn't just check titles
