Is there a way to do this? instead of the standard sound that plays when a text message is recieved. Could i add my own tone, Kind of like what i can do with ringtones. Thanks

From the stand by screen press the "Menu" key.
Scroll to Settings and select by pressing the right soft key.
Scroll to Audio and select by pressing the right soft key.
The phone will display the current ringing profile or style.
Highlight the detail option and select Change by pressing the right soft key.
Highlight "txt msgs" and select Change by pressing the right soft key.
Scroll through all options and select the desired Ringtone or vibration setting.
Press the end call button to exit.

Mine must be totally different..It does not say audio. But when i go into the ring styles, the option for details is not there..
